Historia
As one of the few witches in Britain, Mika Moon knows she has to hide her magic, keep her head down, and stay away from other witches so their powers don’t mingle and draw attention. And as an orphan who lost her parents at a young age and was raised by strangers, she’s used to being alone and she follows the rules...with one exception: an online account, where she posts videos "pretending" to be a witch. She thinks no one will take it seriously.

Fun, mysterious, fantastic crazy characters that make you laugh out loud
Revisado: 03-06-24
I loved 95% of this series. The 5% I hated could not be helped, it was the suspenseful part of book 10. Basically, I was impatient for a solution. It’s the type of suspenseful impatience that you can only experience once you have come to love the characters and find yourself deeply engrossed in wanting good things for them.
The setting and characters are great! The writing is great! The narration is great!
Basically, the series is great. I hope Tess Lake gets the recognition she deserves

I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I still think that Aurora's speech pattern feels a lot like debate team speak with there being a lot of words like "thus" and "therefore" but outside of that I really enjoyed this book.
It's almost equal parts detective and paranormal romance and I love that about this series! I love detective stories... especially with female leads.
I also really enjoy all of the backstory that we get on Aurora. Sometimes authors kind of gloss over introducing you to a character but this author really allows you to get to know the individual characters and I appreciate that. I am only able to connect with characters that I feel like I know.

Revisado: 08-06-18
I have loved every book in the Elemental series. I tend to love female heroines and so these books give me a whole new perspective from a male's point of view. I really enjoy Devon's passion. level-headedness and tendency to rush in to help anyone and everyone. This book doesn't take place at Quintesence like the other books but instead at a school for younger paranormals. I love that Henry and Darwin are still Devon's awesome sidekicks.
Todd Menesses does an excellent job as a narrator throughout these books. He has quite a range of voices and he does them to perfection.
I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. And this is my honest review. Believe me I could not have gotten all the way to book 6 unless I totally loved this series - which I do!

Made me want to believe in werewolves
Revisado: 09-03-17
Mo comes from a very special family - she has 2 very hippie parents. They named her Moonflower after all. When she finally gets sick of the SMothering she decides to pack herself up from Mississippi and move all the way to Grundy, Alaska.
She intends to sit on her butt and see how things will be over the next year....and instead finds herself manning the grill at a local diner/bar/pub/dried foods store on her first outing into town. She becomes the permanent cook and is quickly accepted by all of the townsfolk except for the deliciously yummy Cooper.
As you'd guess the guy who she doesn't hit it off with right away is the one who she's meant to be with... and you guessed it - he's a werewolf.
Molly Harper's sense of humor and her side splitting timing are always a treat. I even love how Specialty Books (Jane Jameson, Half-Moon Hollow) is mentioned in this book.
I love the love in her books. It's never a simple fling or a one night stand.... it's always love eternal and I have had an aching need for that to be real since I fell in love with Disney's The Little Mermaid when I was a kid.
Of course, as an adult I now know that you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince. And I know that most relationships do not last forever. And I know that when they do last forever - there's always a lot of complications and a lot of patience. But the inner girl in me.... still screams that love should be eternal and wonderful and this book fills that need perfectly.
And it's all very believable. It's so normal and everyday in these books that it is so easy to believe that there are werewolves all over the world.... how cool is that?

Strong Paranormals defeat a Supervillain
Revisado: 04-25-17
Where does Soul Guard rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is always an odd question for me. I can say that it is an urban fantasy series that I highly recommend to others. I really like it and I am seriously hoping there will be more books in this series!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Soul Guard?
Oh! There's so many!
Vampire Prison
Astrid seeming two faced
Finding out all about Langrell's red ball
Rocky and Devon underwater
A shadowwalker (Cretia's) is relieved of his master's control
Felicity helps - that alone was like... whaaat?!
What about Todd Menesses’s performance did you like?
He's just got such a great presence and such an extraordinary voice and he flawlessly moves from one character to the next. I'm impressed.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Devon Sanders & Scooby-gang save the day
Any additional comments?

Rain Oxford's Elemental Series Book #5: Soul Guard
This was an exceedingly well written book with a lot of great magic, imagery and life. It wasn't my favorite in the series though. Even though it kind of had the fifth element of the soul/spirit...I really missed the elements of earth, air, fire and water setting the undertone of the book.
The super-villain of the series is finally dealt with and we find out how he became who he is. That was definitely a tugs-on-the-heartstrings part of the book that Rain Oxford is great at!
I loved Rocky, the gargoyle familiar of Devon, in this book. Rocky just has this great personality and always acts with such authority and clarity and does it all without hesitation. Everyone should have a Rocky in their life!
We learn even more about Langrell's red ball.
There are some parts that are repeated from book 4 but they are necessary to the story and tie in the new bits of information very well!
Todd Menesses continues to do a great job narrating. I feel like I did when watching Dick Tracy films as a kid.
There's a cliffhanger at the end that can lead into a whole other book and I hope that it will.
I really have enjoyed all of this books in this series and I highly recommend it to others.
Devon, Darwin, Henry and Scott are completely loveable and I will miss listening to them! Fingers crossed for a book 6!

Revisado: 04-21-17
Any additional comments?
This was a fabulous sequel audiobook. I loved it so much that I just listened and listened and listened. Meg is easy to love because of her childlike kindheartedness and honesty.
Simon Wolfgard is easy to love too because of his protectiveness and care for Meg.
They are in love with each other in an aching, true love type of a way and yet neither of them has admitted it to themselves.
When there is danger Meg's senses prickle and she cuts to help the Terra Indigen once more and the cops of Lakeside.
There's a new pup in town, Skippy, whose mind skips a bit and doesn't work quite right. He's fun to hear about.
While the plot was thick and good and the story was well written and the narrator was fantastic....the real juicy part of this book was the romance and the constant.... will they? won't they? that goes through your mind so often!
