Great gem

I have read all Disk world books plus over a thousand more. I also hold a PhD in Psychology and have studied Zen for several years. Patchett is amazing in multiple ways and I strongly recommend his books. Very educational and entertaining. This one in particular I live because it expresses the essence and simplicity of Zen in a comical and enlightening way.

I have a PhD in psychology and was impressed with how many research based facts go into the book, although simplified. You can easily transfer this knowledge beyond sales to everyday life. However, I don't like his total belief in appealing to the crocodile brain. We want people to develop their rational thinking and prefrontal cortex so I would use his techniques sparingly without diminishing other people to animals by appealing to their basic instincts.
