Historia
For over a century, The New York Times has been an iconic institution in American journalism, one whose history is intertwined with the events that it chronicles—a newspaper read by millions of people every day to stay informed about events that have taken place across the globe. In The Times, Adam Nagourney, who’s worked at The New York Times since 1996, examines four decades of the newspaper’s history, from the final years of Arthur “Punch” Sulzberger’s reign as publisher to the election of Donald Trump in November 2016.

Great recounting of how the NYT transformed itself into the digital age.

This book was so engrossing I cooked, drove and went to bed still listening. Extremely interesting hearing how a business struggled to understand the internet and its impact in the world. Explored how the generational divide in the newsroom would challenge and change the Executive Editors and the presentation of the paper. Great listening. Direct and clear writing. A+

Mary Pat, propelled by a desperate search for her daughter, begins turning over stones best left untouched.

Fantastic novel
Revisado: 10-19-23
Well read. Accurately reveals the atmosphere surrounding the integration of the public school in 1070s. The long held beliefs about the races is so stark and sad. But it’s true to the reality of the times. The story told through the generations of families is intimate and believable. Great book🤩

Historia
Survival for Ki Lim and Sang Ly is a daily battle at Stung Mean Chey, the largest municipal waste dump in all of Cambodia. They make their living scavenging recyclables from the trash. Life would be hard enough without the worry for their chronically ill child, Nisay, and the added expense of medicines that are not working. Just when things seem worst, Sang Ly learns a secret about the ill-tempered rent collector who comes demanding money - a secret that sets in motion a tide that will change the life of everyone it sweeps past.

Historia
It is a hot summer in rural Ireland. A child is taken by her father to live with relatives on a farm, not knowing when or if she will be brought home again. In the Kinsellas' house, she finds an affection and warmth she has not known and slowly, in their care, begins to blossom. But there is something unspoken in this new household—where everything is so well tended to—and this summer must soon come to an end.

Small story great meaning
Revisado: 02-27-23
Claire Keegan writes with spare use of language. It’s poetic and full of meaning. A story of an ordinary girl taken to live with another family. There she finds acceptance, caring and love. It’s a first in her young life. Anyone reading this story would identify back to childhood, remembering when they were crushed by an uncaring, cutting remark; or being lifted up by a smile of love. Lovely story full of life how it’s actually lived. Keegan is a marvelous writer.
