if you can tolerate a whiney lead character and a dull storyline where nothing happens this book is for you.

I usually avoid YA fiction just as a preference. Listening to this book has helped crystalized why. The constant whining was intolerable. also the story line was frustrating. The main character is a teenaged girl who is a supernatural being of some sort. It's apparently a secret so big they won't even tell her what she is. So she is basically left to flounder unprotected and vulnerable to chronic threats from those around her. I appreciate building suspense for the next book. But this was just frustraring .

Kathleen Turner character is too over the top. She should have been dead pages ago but ye t she remains. I found the story a bit choppy. Im assuming future books will be better with experience.

widow solving a murder of a customer in her side clairvoyant business was a nice twist on an old standard but I nearly stopped listening because the narration was really bad. please do better on the next installment.

no one in this book has a healthy romantic relatonship. at some level each love is tragic. the main characters Rory and Houston have what could be an enviable love until you see how weak they were because of it. this story is well developed with great sex scenes. can't call them love scenes.
