Historia
Mary B. Addison killed a baby. Allegedly. She didn't say much in that first interview with detectives, and the media filled in the only blanks that mattered: a white baby had died while under the care of a churchgoing black woman and her nine-year-old daughter. The public convicted Mary, and the jury made it official. But did she do it?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was on the edge, then dangled off the side while being left with my mouth open. A must read. A must read untill the end kind of read. Read by one of my favorite narrator's . The writer Tiffany Jackson definitely took me there. I don't want to spoil any of this book so I suggest reading it for yourself. The torment and mistreatment of this young girl made me angry, made me question, made me doubt.

Historia
For a runaway slave in the 1840s South, life on the run can be just as dangerous as life under a sadistic master. That's what 15-year-old Naomi learns after she escapes the brutal confines of life on an Alabama plantation. Striking out on her own, she leaves behind her beloved Momma and sister, Hazel, and takes refuge in a Georgia brothel run by a freewheeling, gun-toting Jewish madam named Cynthia.

Historia
From 1915 to 1970, this exodus of almost six million people changed the face of America. Wilkerson compares this epic migration to the migrations of other peoples in history. She interviewed more than a thousand people, and gained access to new data and official records, to write this definitive and vividly dramatic account of how these American journeys unfolded, altering our cities, our country, and ourselves.

Great historical read.

I learned so much from this book. So many cultural things make more sense now. At first I didn't like the repetitive points both personal and historical views but it helped keep me focused in the end.

This was an entertaining read indeed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will read it again. The narrator was awesome and allowed me to see the scenes like a movie in my head..I learned some historic facts and was just immersed in the story. I couldn't put it down. Thank you..

The accent

The accent made it hard for my 3rd grader to keep up. He gave up after awhile.
