This is a quick primer listing several money concepts that are universal, from saving to learning money management for the long run. The author discusses how finances can lead to marital discord, and the steps needed to forestall misunderstandings. From a society that is raised to not understand how money functions, adults find themselves at a gross disadvantage in dealing with life. A great little primer!

The vignettes in the book seem to be straight out of my own life - warts and all!!! How did she know? Told with a wonderful sense of humor, wonderful insight into the human condition - as well as her own life and experiences, Ms. Lyle spins a story that's not only familiar but hilarious! I love it, and was howling from the very beginning of the story. Even the narrator was well chosen: Her performance was light, vocal variety was great, with accents to boot! Great book!

For anyone interested in computer languages, this is a book that brings the technical stuff to the common man in understandable terms. Add to that a narrator who is clear, with a robust, resounding tone, and the entire experience is excellent. Great book.

Very well written and narrated explanation of machine learning, an esoteric topic brought to the common man (or woman) in understandable terms. Bravo.

For a technical topic, these books are very well written, and the narrator is superb: skilled, clear with perfect cadence. Easy to understand.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Nice, "salty" story of old curmudgeon dying of cancer, finding love (or sex) again in his final days.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Sing-song quality to the entire narration. No differentiation between narrative and dialogue. Also, transitions, such as "he said" or "she asked" were spoken with the same intensity as the dialogue itself - very irritating. Narrator also tried to assume voices, as in mimicking women's voices or a judge's voice to very poor effect. Overall, surprisingly poor. I wanted to shake the narrator to stop him in midsentence and have him repeat it "more naturally." People don't talk that way!! Far too deliberate. I understand enunciation is critical - unless it's NOT. It's a judgment call. I would give the narrator 5 stars for enunciation - but many passages require less than stellar enunciation.

Was One Last Love worth the listening time?

I could not continue. The sing-song quality, and the lack of vocal variety and nuance aggravated me no end.
