I never meant to say a word, not one single word. But I did. And now, because of my blog, everyone knows that Ice Knights hockey star Ian Petrov's best friend and fellow player is actually his half-brother - hello, hockey Hall of Famer dad who couldn't keep his jeans zipped. That wouldn't be such a big deal if Ian knew. He didn't, and boy howdy is he pissed. And who is he most mad at? Oh sure, he's upset with his dad and former best friend/brother from another mother, but most of his ire is with me. It's definitely a case of hating the messenger.

Great story, I wish it were longer
Revisado: 01-06-23
I liked the story and the characters, but the story felt very short and kind of rushed. I would have really appreciated a bit more story before they got down and dirty, that part felt like it came out of nowhere with no lead up and barely any attraction. I also would have liked more of her backstory. I may be in the minority here, but I also really dislike the epilogue baby trope. I wish authors would just leave well enough alone and not do time jump epilogues.

Historia
The picture house by the sea is the Palace at Polwhipple - a lovely art deco cinema nestled in front of azure Cornish seas. But it is long past its heyday now, and its only saving grace is Ferrelli's, the family run ice-cream concession in the foyer, which is widely known as the best ice cream for miles. So when Ferdie, the owner of Ferelli's, breaks his leg, his granddaughter Gina drops everything to come and help out.

Lovely story, but far too long winded.
Revisado: 02-25-21
I really enjoyed the story in general, but it really dragged in the middle. I nearly gave up. I just kept getting angry at the main character for being so wishy washy and acting like a woman incapable of being honest with herself and the people around her. The performance was perfection.

I have never reached the end of this story.
Revisado: 01-27-21
I have never managed to reach the end of this story, and that is a high compliment. This gets me to sleep just about every night. The story is mundane and calming in the loveliest way and takes my mind off of my life long enough for me to fall asleep. Highly, highly recommend.

Awful and so cringey.

I tried two different times to listen to this thing. Had to give up both times. The characters are so cringey and the story is ridiculous. Don't waste your time.

This book is awful.
Revisado: 06-17-20
I only finished because I hate giving up. The guy is borderline abusive, the girl lets him walk all over her and basically rape her whenever he gets mad. She is supposed to be from New Zealand but has an American accent for the whole book which was so distracting, especially when people mention her supposed Kiwi accent. The storyline is a mess just in general and this dude needs a therapist, not a girl who will screw him because it's the only way to calm down his abusive tendencies. If you have any taste at all, avoid this steaming pile.

Slow start

Had a bit of a slow start and the male narrator was a bit too intense for my taste, but once the story got going I was completely hooked.

So you may ask, who is Adam Connor? He is the recently divorced, Academy Award-winning actor who just moved in next door with his kid. He also happens to be an exquisite male specimen and the most infuriating sly bastard I've ever come across. While I was being thoughtful by not breaking and entering, and was actually considering going over to offer him a shoulder to cry on (you know, because of his divorce), instead he had me thrown in jail after a small incident. Jail, people!

Revisado: 06-16-19
SPOILERS
So a 26 year old dude who just got out of a nasty divorce married a girl he's known for 6 months that he met because she was spying over a fence into his backyard? Just overall I was so disappointed in this story. All Lucy ever talks about is giant cocks and that gets old really fast. Then you have the heroine from the last novel spying on her sexy neighbor? The hell? I cringed all the way through this book and only finished because I hate leaving books unfinished. Then to knock her up at the very end? I HATE when authors do that. Can't you just let these people who barely know each other have some time to be together before throwing a baby into the mix?!?! It's not romantic in the least and it drives me crazy how often that happens in these books.

Cute story, narrator makes it difficult to listen
Revisado: 10-16-18
The narrator's voice is lovely until she tries to do a man's voice or a southern American accent. This issue made the book almost unbearable to listen to and finish. The story is sweet and I would have been able to enjoy is of the reader had just toned it down a little. Every man's voice sounded the same (like they've smoked for 60 years) even the young men. I couldn't even tell the difference sometimes and got confused as to which man was even talking.

The narrator really kept me from getting into the story. Her voice really wasn't appropriate for the type of book or the age of the characters. I was excited for this whole series and now I know I won't be able to listen. Really, really disappointing.

Revisado: 12-19-17
Really great (maybe end) of the series. the only thing that bothered me was the changed from Kristy CHERISH to Kristy CHARISH. I know it's a little thing but it drove me nuts the whole way through. the performance was top notch and the voices she uses for different characters were perfect. The last book was tough for me to get through but this one was a breeze.
