Interesting and well presented

Enjoyed the side bars as much as the main story. Conveyed clearly and articulately with relatable anecdotes.

Historia
Felix's life on Earth had become a series of dead-end jobs, ruined relationships, and rotating apartments smaller than most postage stamps. By all accounts, even his own, he was a coward. Too afraid to move forward, to take risks. Yet when given the chance to choose between risking his life or walking away from a deadly encounter, he didn't hesitate. Moments before his untimely demise, Felix was snatched from earth and thrust into a magical world known only as "The Continent". Empowered by the "System", he learns that he can strengthen himself through combat and dedication.

slow start, decent story
Revisado: 08-25-23
The first 2 hours or so struggled to grab me. However, the story started to pick up after that. Some issues are resolved without explanation, which can be irksome. Overall, it's a decent story. I also choose to believe that the "continent" is one of the sub worlds managed by one of the dungeon cores inside CAL from the Divine Dungeon Universe.

Victory seems within Artorian’s grasp when a deep dive becomes deep fried. Armed with beam weaponry against unreasonable rats, he’s making impressive progress on the Eternia Beta Run. Thanks in part to the Dwarves, and their relentless cheers to "Push...the...button!" There are a few final challenges that loom large on his path to triumph: the frozen continental storm, Fuyu No Arashi; the Matchless Gaston, and the final boss...Pag!

No more narrator
Revisado: 07-17-23
I'm going to start with my issues first, then get to my positive feedback. FIRST, that synopsis was terrible. It had me dreading this entry. First impressions are important. SECOND, I have given the narrator the benefit of the doubt for the last several books, but no more. It is a constant break of immersion when he can't keep his voices straight. This happened at the very first line of the book, where he mixed up Tim's line for Dawn's voice, then started talking like CAL instead for all of Tim's lines. That kind of lack of care is irritating to a long-time listener, especially when it happens to multiple characters. I appreciate the soundboard, but I am not willing to listen to him anymore, so I will be getting physical copies from now on. OK, that's the bad stuff. Now, for my actual opinion. I enjoyed this story far more than the last two books. Plenty happened that actually felt important to the literal world building of Eternia, and Artorian actually has some semblance of control and feels like himself again. The jokes and references are back, but I've come to accept them for the chuckles they give me, though it feels like he is daring people to sue him sometimes. Overall, I enjoyed this entry more than I thought I would and look forward to the next. I will be getting the physical copies of all the books narrated by Pirhalla in this series and will only listen to the Baldree books next time I reread the series. Toodles!

Historia
After his town is put to the sword and the children are taken to replace the fallen, an old man is out for revenge. He’s ready to fail at the most difficult challenge in the world: cultivation. Too corrupted to even take the first steps, the sly old elder simply agreed with those who told him that it was impossible. Then he quietly ignored them, rubbed his hands together, and started anyway.

I love this series
Revisado: 06-09-23
...But it does have issues down the line. Every book has a great underlying story and beautiful moments between likable characters. But the author leans heavily on jokes and references down the line. It's very balanced in the first four books, but it becomes a very real problem that gets worse with every additional title. It's worth it, I'm still invested, but it is a problem I hope will be addressed.

Finding the new path
Revisado: 04-14-23
I had no idea where this series was going after the last book, and apparently, neither did Artorian. This book was mainly Artorian trying to figure out what he wanted now that the major fires were put out and how to have fun with a system that gave him too much. Ultimately, 13 hours of indecision leading up to the setup for the next book. Fun enough, but don't expect a lot of progression from this entry.

Historia
On a little-known planet, Archmage Varic Vallenar casts a grand spell to empower himself with the magical abilities of his alternate selves. The ritual works too well, granting Varic not only the magic but also the memories from six lives. Including their gruesome deaths. Now, Varic has power greater than any wizard in galactic history, but he knows that won’t be enough. The enemies he faced in those alternate lives were apocalyptic in scale. Terrors of technology and magic. Nothing that he, or anyone, can defeat.

I'm looking forward to the future of this series. Varies entire crew is incredibly endearing, I even like the crazy one. Good pacing and a completely different feel from Cradle. I'm hoping I will like this series as much as its predecessor.

I wanted to like it
Revisado: 03-30-23
The setting was good, and the story had potential. However, it ultimately fell flat. Most of the 3 books repeat the same things every 2 minutes with actual story progression sprinkled here and there. Drazen lord, my shaping is different, elementals, don't get caught sympathizing with the elementals. There, I just gave you 90% of the MC's inner thoughts throughout the 3 books. The MC is completely static. He doesn't learn from past mistakes while he ignores and lies to his friends. You barely get to know any other characters, and it's like the author is afraid you will forget the overarching mysteries if they don't mention them every paragraph.

Enjoyable, but...
Revisado: 02-21-23
I liked the story overall, and Travis Baldree is a great narrator. But I need to lower the score for that ending. Cliffhangers like that show a lack of confidence in selling sequels based on the stories' true merits and honestly should be illegal.

Artorian wakes in youthful form version three, and happier he could not be. Exploring Avalon is a treat to the senses, with cat cafes galore and gossip flowing evermore. Lectures on Laws and leisurely walks fill his days, with plenty abound to catch the eye. New game +
Revisado: 02-17-23
One day Artorian will be able to stay an old man. It is nice to go back to Eternia after the last few books. Regarding the narrator, now that he has gotten used to his roles, and I've gotten used to his voice, he is very good. Also, let me just say that he has convinced me that using a soundboard should be standard for all narrators.

Artorian wakes on a brand-new planet, refreshed and ready to make some mischief now that he’s back in Cal’s soul space! Eternium is old news; in fact, now that Barry is completely forked, the curtains on Eternia’s Alpha have closed. Being awake has its upsides, but there are a few...concerns. Cal, even unconscious, is pushing the boundaries of the double-S ranks. With oaths and promises in peril, should he breach that rank before letting people live their lives, Artorian will hustle and bustle to lay the groundwork for mass-decanting. Surely nothing will go wrong.

This book is filler. That's the long and short of it. It's an in between arcs setting meant to set up the next story... Welp, here's hoping the new arc is good.
