The story is based on actual events, and the writing and performances make sense of them. One comes away with both psychological and cultural insights into the world of a woman who wanted to feel important and yet understood her famous friends better than they understood themselves.

Terrible narration

I couldn’t be sure how much of the inaccessibility and opaqueness of this presentation was in the narration and how much in the text itself, but most likely it is both. The writing seems unedited and vague. I was hoping for examples of applying the formula in the specific solution of real world situations, but mostly heard that one could do so. The errors in grammar, sentence structure, and word usage were distracting. However it does provide the formula and define the terms. That part only takes a few minutes, but if that is your goal, you will find that here.

I don’t know how he does it, and as I understand it neither does Mr. King. Once again he combines high suspense with outcomes the reader cannot foresee. Moreover, he beautifully links the fantastic (supernatural) elements of his plot with the horrific elements of our world, those we too often consider natural. Also, Mr. Patton’s performance was terrific. Thanks to you both and all the others involved in the performance.

Having finished the full book, it is hard to accept this as written by the same person.

The tone, style, wit, personality, depth, and sophistication of 10% Happier is just not consistent with the supposed companion guide. I don't think they have the same author.
