Didn’t see it coming

The author had just enough lies, from so many people, to make you wonder how the title fit into the story. The story itself was a worthy listening. The mystery of where each person fit into the story, kept me interested and guessing how it would end. The ending was terrific.

The Ending Made It worth the Listen

Charles is one of the best at pulling on your heart strings. I would actually give it 4 1/2 stars because of the somewhat confusing portion of the book around 2/3 into the book. The reader is one of the best at changing dialects and makes the book more appealing. I loved the 2 main characters, They were very down to earth and enjoyable throughout the book. I think Charles Martin is one of the best authors who is like a clean comedian. When you have one who can make you feel good inside without the dirtiness included on the outside. And Martin always pulls on the heart at the end. I definitely recommend this book and the author's other books.

Disappointing

It was well written until the end. The story when it got to the end was a bit predictable and not much to the climax. It had a good premise , then it disappointed.

Another Excellent Martin Book

This book started out a little slower than most of his other books I have read. However, it picks up speed and is hard to put down. You can't miss his last chapter that has a brief history of Hurricane Carlos that hit Nicaragua. This really brings the importance of this book to life.

C. Martin Keeps Bringing It

Charles Martin writes an incredible story that hits the heart. Although you know what is going to happen, early in the book, he waits long enough to keep you listening. I kept wanting to turn it off, but just couldn't.

This series is Excellent

The Murphy Shepherd trilogy is one of the best I’ve ever read. In our current world, slavery exists . Most of us don’t even realize the sex trade that is out there. Charles Martin brings it very close to home. I would highly recommend this series of books by Charles Martin.

Slow to Start, Fast to Finish

This book started out slow. Then BAM, it took off. It was hard to put down when it reached that BAM moment. I loved this book.

Hard to Read

I tried listening to this book. I stopped at after almost 5 hours. It is very slow and not much to the story at this time. I am not willing to put 13 hours into it.

Better to have the written book

Jay Warner Wallace is an excellent detective. His descriptions for Christians to use in apologetics is excellent. However the PDF files for this book is really needed to best use the information in the book. I recommend getting the book.

Why I am a conservative

I have friends that are similar in my religious values. I don’t understand why they would be Democrat or liberal. I don’t understand how they don’t think like I do. However this book gave me great insight what dopamine does to our thinking. It was a lot more thought-provoking and interesting than I thought it would be. I recommend this book. It may help to understand why people would choose socialism over a free society.
