Fantastic!
Revisado: 05-10-21
Couldn't put it down? And the narrator was spectacular! His voice projected well and each character came to life. The book was so well written Mr. Tolkien's imagination is impressive. I couldn't make up some of those characters.

I don't usually read biographies. I find them boring but I have always loved Elton. I couldn't stop. It is well written. Funny, a little sad in places, but always entertaining.

magnificent!
Revisado: 12-29-19
Again I listen to one of Scott Pratt's Joe Dillard novels and I couldn't turn it off. It captures my interest in a way that very few books do. Joe Dillard is the kind of character that is like a dog looking for his bone that you hid. He just won't give up! When he has an idea that his client is innocent,he continues to work at finding the guilty even if he is the only one that believes. The ending is always a big surprise.

Blake Crouch is a genius. I never saw the end of this book coming. I can't give anything away for the next reader. They need to experience it as I (and many others) did, but I have to say, I can usually guess what's going to happen. I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you Mr. Crouch. I have already purchased the second in the series. I need to go so I can start reading.

Great Book!
Revisado: 09-05-19
As usual, this Joe Dillard story is packed full of excitement. and I learn something new everytime I read one. The descriptions of the countryside makes me want to go there so bad.
Joe Dillard is a refreshing character. He is mostly as honest as they come, but there's that little grey area and I mean real little. I hope that one of Mr. Pratt's children can continue their Dad's legacy. If not, I will be sad to say goodbye to the last in the series. Until then I plan on listening to the rest of them real slow. I also need to put in a good word for the narrator for the Joe Dillard series. He has a real nice voice.

Why we think it’s a great listen: A masterpiece like none other, Brooks’ powerful performance of Haley’s words has been known to leave listeners in tears. It begins with a birth in an African village in 1750, and ends two centuries later at a funeral in Arkansas. And in that time span, an unforgettable cast of men, women, and children come to life, many of them based on the people from Alex Haley's own family tree.

I absolutely love this book. it's awesome that Alex was able to trace his roots so far back. I read this book when I was in high school many years ago. I listened to it this time and it was just a great as the first time. The narrator was very good also. It makes a huge difference if the narrator doesn't have the right voice. This guy kept my interest.

Love these books. Nice and short, with a surprise ending. They are well spoken also. I like to listen to books most of the time so a person's voice and acting make a big difference to the enjoyment of the book.
