my expectations have been blown out of the water! you don't ever really get to see what happens when the isekai hero actually makes it to his home world, and this is everything I've ever wanted. every revelation, awkward reunion, and moment of silly banter had me well up with some emotion or another. to be honest, I loved the last book too, but the sheer amount of combat and power explanations starved me of what I loved most about the series; that being different characters interacting with Jason. this definitely scratched that itch.
