Historia
It is the week before Christmas. A tanking economy has prompted Dr. Kay Scarpetta - despite her busy schedule and her continuing work as the senior forensic analyst for CNN - to offer her services pro bono to New York City's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. In no time at all, her increased visibility seems to precipitate a string of unexpected and unsettling events.

Not as good as others
Revisado: 03-08-22
I have been a fan for many years but this one was not as good as previous books. There seemed to be much more anger in the tone of the book, not as much passion for the job and finding answers as previous books. Still a fan but cautious about the next one.

Historia
In Jesus on Trial, New York Times bestselling author David Limbaugh applies his lifetime of legal experience to a unique new undertaking: making a case for the gospels as hard evidence of the life and work of Jesus Christ. Limbaugh, a practicing attorney and former professor of law, approaches the canonical gospels with the same level of scrutiny he would apply to any legal document and asks all the necessary questions about the story of Jesus....

Too bad he still missed the point.
Revisado: 01-12-22
Great book especially for the non-believer. The details are excellent and accurate BUT in the end he missed the overall point. A believer must do what was commanded. Highly recommend

Historia
The year is 2008 and Samantha Kofer's career at a huge Wall Street law firm is on the fast track - until the recession hits and she gets downsized, furloughed, escorted out of the building. Samantha, though, is one of the "lucky" associates. She's offered an opportunity to work at a legal aid clinic for one year without pay, after which there would be a slim chance that she'd get her old job back. In a matter of days Samantha moves from Manhattan to Brady, Virginia, population 2,200, in the heart of Appalachia, a part of the world she has only read about.

Revisado: 10-28-21
Because I have lived in that area it was great to hear names of towns I was familiar with. Getting the culture of the area was also great. The storyline flowed easy and did not get bogged down with too many legal details for the non-lawyer person that I am. Thanks for another great story Mr Grisham.

It soon becomes clear that Machiavelli will do anything in his power to achieve his end…even after the case turns deadly. A boat has washed up on shore carrying a dead man and a living baby.

Historia
Drawing on research at the Body Farm—three acres of land in the backwoods of Tennessee, where bodies are left to the elements to illuminate human decomposition—Bass has moved fiction to a fascinating new realm, with forensics expertise drawn from his five decades of work as the world's leading forensic anthropologist. But this latest novel cements Jefferson Bass as one of the finest writers of suspense working today, and in a work of drama, cunning, and heartbreak, thrills the reader with fiction that feels all too real.

Getting hooked on Dr Bass
Revisado: 05-13-20
This is the second one I have listened to from him. I like that they are not 14 hours long. Good story with enough detail to keep my interest but not like I am reading a scientific book. I also read Scarpeta but I am finding I am liking Dr Bass better.
