Historia
On the 85th floor of a glittering high-rise in Los Angeles, Robert Tarza steps into the lobby of the Marbury Marfan law firm to discover his partner Simon Rafer lying in a pool of blood - an ornate dagger plunged into his back. Robert had worked with Simon for decades, and their relationship was fraught with conflict. But he never imagined he would wind up as the prime suspect for his colleague’s murder. As the evidence stacks up against him with frightening speed, he quickly falls from his respected position to that of a criminal dragged through the tabloids.

Revisado: 09-06-14
Would you try another book from Charles Rosenberg and/or Christopher Lane?
I have rated the narrator as "excellent", so there is no question of trying his performance again. Very well indeed. As for the story, it is very mediocre, without any "gem". Not in my line.
Do you think Death on a High Floor needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No. It is too long as it is.

Historia
Court Gentry is known as The Gray Man - a legend in the covert realm, moving silently from job to job, accomplishing the impossible, and then fading away. And he always hits his target. But there are forces more lethal than Gentry in the world. And in their eyes, Gentry has just outlived his usefulness. Now, he is going to prove that for him, there's no gray area between killing for a living-and killing to stay alive.

Dynamic and pretty enjoyable
Revisado: 07-24-14
What did you love best about FREE The Gray Man?
Honestly, I am not a fan of that sort of stories with lots of shooting and fighting. But unexpectedly I liked this one. Probably, because the attachment of the Gray Man to little Clair gives very subtle emotional touch to the whole book. The last scene in the park is really melodramatic, contrasting to the brutality of the others. All in all I have enjoyed the book and I will possibly try other Gray Man stories.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The performance is good, I have found no drawbacks.
Any additional comments?
The story is totally unbelievable, but it is presented nicely, therefore I do not regret the time spent for listening.

Historia
A body in a pool of skim milk. An unsavory discovery at any time, but especially inconvenient when the milk puddle is in front of the espresso machine the very morning you're scheduled to open your chic suburban coffee house, Uncommon Grounds. AND the body is one of your partners, leaving you and your other partner - the one who's still alive - as suspects. Which would all be bad enough, even if your husband HADN'T just dumped you for his dental assistant....

What did you like best about Uncommon Grounds? What did you like least?
Both the story and the narration are totally unremarkable. No emotions, no thoughts, just a passtime.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Honestly, just a relief that the story has ended.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Karen Savage?
There is no reason not to. Performance is decent, so if the story is worthy of listening, then why not?
Was Uncommon Grounds worth the listening time?
Definitely not.

Revisado: 06-22-14
Would you try another book from Jan-Philipp Sendker and/or Cassandra Campbell?
Unless I will be recommended by a person whose opinion and tatse I trust, definitely I will not try any book by J.-Ph. Sendker as I really had to force myself to listen to this one. Something not in my line. As for the performance, it is really good, so Cassandra Campbell has managed to do a great job on a poor material.
What could Jan-Philipp Sendker have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I do not know. Just to write something different.
What about Cassandra Campbell’s performance did you like?
Highly professional.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Just boredom.

Historia
Two dead bodies changed the course of my life that fall. One of them I knew and the other I'd never laid eyes on until I saw him in the morgue. The first was a local PI of suspect reputation. He'd been gunned down near the beach at Santa Teresa. It looked like a robbery gone bad. The other was on the beach six weeks later. He'd been sleeping rough. Probably homeless. No identification. A slip of paper with Millhone's name and number was in his pants pocket. The coroner asked her to come to the morgue to see if she could ID him.

What made the experience of listening to W Is for Wasted the most enjoyable?
I have liked Kinsey Millhone stories for a long while, starting from "A" (for Alibi). In my opinion, the character is really attractive and the stories are pretty enjoyable. This one has not been disappointing.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kinsey, of course.

Revisado: 11-02-12
Would you listen to Kane and Abel again? Why?
No. It is too long and after the curiosity is satisfied nothing left. However, Jeffrey Archer is an excellent story-teller and you stay hooked from the beginning to the end.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kane's and Abel's children.
Which scene was your favorite?
Abel's coming to the castle, really moving.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, it is too long.
Any additional comments?
Although my evaluation is not very high, I do not regret that I have downloaded and listened to this book. Just this is not something I would like to come back to. Very solid work and excellent performance.

Revisado: 08-05-12
What did you like best about Perry Mason and the Case of the Curious Bride? What did you like least?
I am a real fan of Perry mason's stories by E. S. Gardner. But.. The dramatized version is not exactly what I expected.
Would you be willing to try another book from Erle Stanley Gardner and M. J. Elliott ? Why or why not?
I would like to try a BOOK rather than that sort of imitation.
How could the performance have been better?
Actually, this seems to be easy. Just have the book narrated by any of excellent performers like Kit Flanagan, Candy Clark, David Ackroyd, and there are plenty of others.
Do you think Perry Mason and the Case of the Curious Bride needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Revisado: 06-25-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, if he/she likes the Sydney Sheldon's type of mystery stories. I have enjoyed the story, and the final comes rather unexpected.
What other book might you compare Sidney Sheldon’s After the Darkness to and why?
Reminds "If tomorrow comes", the same idea of justice and vengeance.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Caitlin Thorburn?
The narrator does not appeal to me at all, poor performance, often sounds hysterica. For me, Angela Dawe or Fred Stella are just perfect.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Gace's meeting Lenny in Madagascar!
Any additional comments?
Not as good as Sydney Sheldon, but pretty enjoyable. Don't try it if you are not inclined to that sort of literature.

It was his first big murder case - and one of the bloodiest and most violent crimes LAPD detective Danny McGuire would ever encounter. Andrew Jakes, an elderly multimillionaire art dealer, had been brutally murdered in his Hollywood home, his lifeless body tied to his naked young wife. Raped and beaten, the lovely Angela Jakes had barely survived the attack herself. Gazing into her deep, soulful eyes, Danny swore that he'd find the psychopath behind this barbarous act.

Would you try another book from Sidney Sheldon and Tilly Bagshawe and/or Michael Kramer?
Maybe, but Sidney Sheldon alone is much better.
If you’ve listened to books by Sidney Sheldon and Tilly Bagshawe before, how does this one compare?
I have listened the "Mistress of the game." This one is on the same level, but far below "The Master of the Game", Sydney Shelodn's classics!
Would you be willing to try another one of Michael Kramer’s performances?
Not really.
Did Sidney Sheldon's Angel of the Dark inspire you to do anything?
Definitely not.
Any additional comments?
It would be nice to have more Sidney Sheldon's books on the site. There are so many exciting stories.
