Historia
In Ellie Caster’s town of Bishop’s Gap, the Casters and the powerful Levy family have been feuding for generations. The families share just one thing in common—they both dread the mark, a scorch that appears at random on their doors, bringing a curse from the Burning Tree. When the mark hits Ellie’s door, her sister Jean falls into a coma. Ellie knows the Burning Tree is to blame, and desperate to save her sister, she braves the forbidden woods to confront it. But this choice ignites a chain of unintended consequences, forcing her to work with her nemesis, Charlotte Levy.

Excellent Story
Revisado: 03-01-23
This story starts as a police procedureal, presents a mystery, and ends as a thriller! The tempo and tension ratchet up along the way. The interrelationships of wormwood and the thrilling culmination make the Burial Place a must read. Recommend following up with 2nd book in the series, City of Fear. I read them backwards and still loved 'em both.

Great advice. The fairytale characters are a bit tiresome. Be prepared for that. Over all good stuff.

Historia
Over two grim nights in Los Angeles, the young followers of Charles Manson murdered seven people, including the actress Sharon Tate, then eight months pregnant. With no mercy and seemingly no motive, the Manson Family followed their leader's every order. Twenty years ago, when journalist Tom O'Neill was reporting a magazine piece about the murders, he worried there was nothing new to say. Then he unearthed shocking evidence of a cover-up behind the "official" story, including police carelessness, legal misconduct, and potential surveillance by intelligence agents.

Exceptional Reference Book
Revisado: 10-04-20
Great book well read. However it's not the best book for audio consumption. it's full of lists, checklists, and items you will want to reference while writing, You'll want a hard or digital copy. Audio makes a great reinforcement or overview, but this is a reference book you'll want to return to.

Historia
Emperor Mollusk. Intergalactic Menace. Destroyer of Worlds. Conqueror of Other Worlds. Mad Genius. Ex-Warlord of Earth. Not bad for a guy without a spine. But what's a villain to do after he's done... everything. With no new ambitions, he's happy to pitch in and solve the energy crisis or repel aliens invaders should the need arise, but if he had his way, he'd prefer to be left alone to explore the boundaries of dangerous science. Just as a hobby, of course. Retirement isn't easy though.

Not Your Ordinary Fish Tale
Revisado: 07-22-20
The tension in this book ratchets up like holding your breath underwater. The first few chapters are a wonderful breath of fresh air, you can hold it through the middle part, and by the end your lungs are straining and you're grasping for the surface. When you finally break from the water's grasp you realize that the swirling tide isn't pulling you under. You'll probably also realize the sun is up and you finished the book in a night.

A Timeless Classic
Revisado: 07-22-20
A. Lee Martinez generates tech-noir with this amazing, heartfelt story woven together from old Bogart films and 1950s Atomic Punk. He glosses it over with a modern metallic sheen, spot on dialogue, and wonderful story telling. This synthesis of detective mystery and scifi action thriller is a great read for anybody who likes either genre at a must-read for anyone who likes both.
