Dr. Lennox explores a method for reading and interpreting the first chapters of Genesis without discounting either science or Scripture. This book, Lennox offers a careful yet accessible introduction to a scientifically-savvy, theologically-astute, and Scripturally faithful interpretation of Genesis.

* Employs the lessons learned during the Galileo situation.

* Holds to the notion that the infallibility of scripture should not be confused with one's interpretation of scripture.

* Offers a succinct survey of the chief interpretations of Genesis One.

* Analyses the Hebrew word for "Day" (Yom).

* Evaluates the work of Collins, Behe, Walton, and others.

* Provides his view of humanity's special creation.

* Analysis of the "Cosmic Temple View".

Dr. Lennox gives a breathtaking lecture that is at the very least, no matter what you believe, stimulating and though provoking.

In 2024, and in Oxford time travel is an academic pursuit, allowing historians to travel to the periods they study. Kivrin is a young historian taking an unprecedented trip to 1320 and accidentally landing right in the middle of the Black Plague.

The book is largely predictable much like watching a B movie and knowing the evil villain is hiding behind the door and having to watch the heroin slowly (very slowly) walk toward the door and open it -- I found myself thinking how it was like a series of frantic phone calls back and forth leaving messages and just missing the other side (constantly).

I was further disappointed, after reading the hype reviews of this book, on Connie Willis drab and dull vision of the future. Aside time travel there was nothing else of interest or new in any way in the 21st century. After a few side plots that lead nowhere the book finally got to some very good characters Colin, Agnes, Rosamund whom all die the "Blue Death" just as they were developing in to interesting paths in the story.

I did enjoy parts of the story, and think it would be found very interesting to those interested in this period of history and maybe who are less familiar with Sci-Fi. It's depiction of life in the middle ages was also intriguing. My advice is wait until you are in a patient listening mood then give it a chance.

I felt the story just wasn't there, it was interesting at times, but not much fun to read. I liked the settings and visuals the story gave me but the story developed slowly. No heart racing moments and the story was reported not read (no fault of the narration which was very good) more like CNN reporting on wars in the middle east than a well written book.
Bacigalupi's short stories are usually very good but this one just didn't cut it in my humble opinion.

In spite of many people finding this book a good read it's not something I'd recommend to a friend and it left me unsatisfied. The premise, a post-apocalyptic world where bioengineering and climate change have made life barely functional, seemed an interesting angle so I got it but it's full of non essential violence and sexual abuse in lieu of a good story line and framework.

Try his shorter stories.. they are pretty good.

I know better than to start a series before they are finished, the waiting kills me. Radiance is everything you want it to be and then some. I was a little bit taken back by Kaladins negative attitude in the beginning but a couple of good fights got this straightened out.

The book is filled with some wonderful surprises and glorious battles on the shattered plains that leads to a huge discovery and enormous revelations about the past and future. This seems to get a lot of down votes here but I really didn't care for the Shallan Davar plot line, shes important to the story but really didn't find it compelling, perhaps I feel this way because her storyline is the lest action packed in the book?

The narration is sublime... do it again please. How long will we have to wait for Book 3?

Somewhat interesting - took a long time for the plot to unfold. It felt disorganized. The Tanu and Firvulag were very interesting as it seems they might have been taken from Celtic mythology and twisted to feel nether-worldly? The Tanu being Tuatha De Danaan’ while the Firvulag were the equivalent to an invading race like race called ‘Firbolg’ two factions that were at war with each other.

I'm not sure audible is going to do the next audio in the series and I think this book will suffer because of that, it's sorely needed. The story felt incomplete to me.

Certainly Mr. Hedges does believe in atheists, in fact concludes that the newest generation of atheists (Hitchens, Harris, Dawkins etc) are ideologues closer in kind to the religious extremists they desire to literally annihilate.

As an experienced war correspondent who has confessed his own addiction to the “rush and excitement of battle,” he has something important to say about extremism, no matter from which direction it is coming.

He sees the future is bleak and no solution unless people regain the power that the governments now posses.

Hedges explains that these “militant atheists,” posing as religious experts, do not simply disagree with religious truth claims — they see them as evils. Dawkins says they must be removed from our culture, Hitchens blamed it on the Muslims and Harris takes it to the next level in a recent interview in which he states If he had a magic wand with which to eradicate rape or religion he'd choose religion.

Fact moving audio, leaves you with many things to consider. Excellent information and not the typical debate retaliatory commentary in any way.

Considering that there is a, at this time, uncontrolled Ebola outbreak I felt it time to do my duty and review this audio. Firstly, when listening to this audio it doesn't seem at all like non-fiction, the author has done a very good job of bridging the gap and creating these true events into a story like pattern that will scare the living hell out of you.

Warning: It's graphic. If you've never read any information on the way one meets their demise "crashes" after being infected with Ebola, Marburg etc.. it's not pretty, in fact it's something straight out of a Stephen King novel. Next time someone even sneezes by you a whole new thought process will instantly take place and you'll squirm as fast as you can away from the epicenter.

This book doesn't slow down for a second and reads like a bio warfare crime drama in which someone is bleeding out ever other paragraph. Read it and then go wash your hands.

That is all... over.

This is not an anti-law enforcement audio. It's a very well documented and researched case driven historic painting that moves from the earliest days of law enforcement and the money and corruption driving it to become a "police state lite". It's scarey and factual it leaves little doubt where we are headed and how close to being a closed society we are today. The blatant corruption and lack of responsibility of law enforcement agencies committing crimes that others would be put away for life, is just insane.

Needs to be listened to.

Very good story and fantastic narration. Well worth the "pirate-ninjas" spent for it.

The story of Mark Whatley, an astronaut who gets abandoned on Mars and the hell he goes through to try to survive. Comical, depressing where morals and ethics conflict, nerve-wracking, and hilarious. Very entertaining book, fast paced and amazing narration. Best Sci Fi I've read in a while.

A journalist investigates scientific evidence that points toward God and the scientific guest contributors are stunning and engrossing. Really quite the learning experience for those that like their Apologetics dipped in science. Excellent book, in the top 5 apologetic books.
