Historia
Kate Sedgwick's life has been anything but typical. She's endured hardship and tragedy, but throughout it all she remains happy and optimistic (there's a reason her best friend, Gus, calls her Bright Side). Kate is strong willed, funny, smart, and musically gifted. She's also never believed in love. So when Kate leaves San Diego to attend college in the small town of Grant, Minnesota, the last thing she expects is to fall in love with Keller Banks.

Amazing & heart crushing! This will stay with you!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! It was amazing. It was hilarious, witty, and compelling. I felt like I was already friends with the characters and became so invested in their story.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kate hands down. She's the definition of 'bright side' and everyone should have a friend like her in their life.
What does Roger Wayne and Lidia Dornet bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Lidia Dornet perfectly personified Kate. Her exuberance and inflection felt SO real to who the character was. She didn't just read the book, she PERFORMED it.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were multiple moments, but I think the overall way Kate lived her life was moving and inspirational.

I wanted to like this!
Revisado: 09-24-15
What did you like best about Mud Vein? What did you like least?
I was mostly intrigued by the story line. Overall though I disliked the character. She wasn't realistic in my mind and her inner monologue kind of drove me nuts. I think this was compounded by listening to it aloud.
Would you ever listen to anything by Tarryn Fisher again?
Probably! You can tell she knows how to create a compelling story. It was just this particular character I found disagreeable.
What didn’t you like about Simone Lewis’s performance?
Felt kind of monotone.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No.
