Historia
Many who have read the New York Times best seller The Da Vinci Code have questions that arise from seven codes, expressed or implied, in Dan Brown's book. In Breaking the Da Vinci Code, Darrell Bock, Ph.D., responds to the novelist's claims using central ancient texts.

Short on information
Revisado: 07-26-04
Unfortunately, if you are going to postulate a debate on a subject you should do your homework. Brown did his homework but this Ph.D. didn't. There is a lot of other information that supports Brown's thesis and I was hoping to read/hear good contrary evidence in this book. The only arguments against The DaVinci Code seem to be faith-based so far. Brown's book only claimed to be a novel (with a single statement about fact in the introduction) but this rebuttal claims much more than it delivers. Disappointing.

Historia
When Hitler came to power in the 1930s, Germany had led the world in science, mathematics, and technology for nearly four decades. But while the fact that Hitler swiftly pressed Germany's scientific prowess into the service of a brutal, racist, xenophobic ideology is well known, few realize that German scientists had knowingly broken international agreements and basic codes of morality to fashion deadly weapons even before World War I.

A good combination
Revisado: 04-30-04
This was a very interesting and enjoyably read combination of science in Germany, Hitler's serious character flaws, and the largely unsuccessful military use of technology in two wars. The only dissapointment was the end of the book where the author delves into social science and morality. His sources and conclusions are so poorly chosen that it made me question the historical facts he presented earlier. Skip the gibberish of the last few chapters and enjoy the history.
