Historia
Scott Galloway teaches brand strategy at NYU's Stern School of Business, but his most popular lectures deal with life strategy, not business. The Algebra of Happiness: Notes on the Pursuit of Success, Love, and Meaning draws on Professor Galloway's mix of anecdotes and no-BS insight to share hard-won wisdom about life's challenges, along with poignant personal stories.

Very grounding without a religious slant. Enjoyed it!!!

Short listen. Finished in 1 day. Had to listen @1.7x speed due to cadence of marathon. Classic Scott Galloway. I miss about 20% of his humor. Enjoyed it.

Historia
There’s no doubt that our world has gotten more extreme. Pandemics, climate change, superpower rivalries, cyberattacks, political radicalization—virtually, everywhere we look there is mayhem bearing down on us, putting trillions of assets at risk. And at least two factions have formed around how to respond. In Chaos Kings, Scott Patterson depicts how one faction, led by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, bestselling author of The Black Swan, believes humans can never see the big disaster coming.

Enjoyed the insights into spitznagel & taleb
Revisado: 06-26-23
Another great Patterson book. Always delivers. Thought the ending was rather abrupt & lost me a bit at the end of the book when writing about climate change & risk. The best book out there giving insight into spitznagel & his investing.

Not groundbreaking, but solid reinforcements
Revisado: 03-28-23
Author does a good job giving an overview of how & what he does / has done without being too simplistic or speaking down to the reader. Was a relatively brief listen & not drawn out, which was great.
Particularly enjoyed his overview on internet marketing, which I have zero knowledge. I wud recommend it to any doc kicking the tires on starting a biz.

More of a Public Policy book than technology work
Revisado: 12-27-16
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Overall a good book to listen to. Easy to follow. I thought it was a bit heavier on public policy and lighter on technology than I originally expected, but I still had a great experience listening. The author worked for Hillary Clinton in the state dept.
Were the concepts of this book easy to follow, or were they too technical?
Very easy to follow concepts. Not overly technical at all. Easy to listen to.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Alec Ross?
I would consider reading another work by Alec Ross, but read by a professional narrator. The audio recording was read by the author and overall not as good as some of the other professional readers that Audible uses. It also seemed that the original recording was an earlier draft of the book that later had bits of revised audio interjected later.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No.
Any additional comments?
The book was good overall, but did have more of a public policy bias in the writing and less technology. Despite this, I did enjoy some of the international policies covered.

Great read. Perspective changing.
Revisado: 12-14-16
Really enjoyed this book. It kept my attention to the end. Perhaps most importantly, I feel this is one of the works I read every only every 5years or so that really changes my perspectives going forward. I give it a strong recommendation.
