I wonder when people will figure out that this labelling is in fact the opposite of empowering

Not much there really , stopped during book 2 , it was just too boring . Why do the vampires call themselves blood goozzlers ? This word is repeated all the time and rather annoying

Great modern take on the dao, but please blow your nose

A Jewish mother relates her struggles and insights in a very empathetic way. It’s heartwarming and refreshing . Def recommend the text. As a Daoist woman living in the west, I drew lots of insights from her description of capitalism vs communism and her relationship with men.
Just really wish the narrator would clean her nose cause it’s making me put down the book as I feel like I need to blow my own nose. I couldn’t finish even though I wanted to.

10 minutes could have summed it up and it would have been useful. She s made her job from clueless people and rubs it in . Yes: some advice is good.

Really liked the fact based approach and the zero BS . I definitely eat differently now and at different times to keep my body out of starvation mode

Good ideas but there are holes

I liked the first book best by far as it drew me into the story and had good focus. Over the course of the books we get more and more complex storylines and i found their coordination hard to believe.
I do think there were brilliant ideas all over the place, the whole combined plotline though feels artificial and constructed. with so many characters and plot lines, there is lack of depth in the single characters. Often I wanted to understand better the motives (especially the empress could have benefitted from more page time ) and side plots (like vernius' last appearances) feel hurried and I felt they were wasted opportunities for more coherence and more credibility

Great intro to the Gita but sleepy performance

I can 100% recommend the book as illuminating intro to the Gita .
However I will not listen to this book again as its audio (monotone reading and constant background noise/music) is not very appealing.

love the series but too short

as always these lectures pass far too quickly. they are very entertaining and I learned many a new fact. however I can't get rid of the impression that the professor focuses very much on sensational details to make the time pass quickly. I could easily do with more rigor and would enjoy the lecture more
