I really liked that the couple both survived loss and finally realized they loved each other.

I'm not sure that I didn't like anything about it, but the story is very long. I'm not sure it could have been told as well if it was shorter? I saw the book in 3 parts, and each part was necessary for the ending.

Xarik is the last of the Vanyi, a type of Stryxian with strong mental telepathic powers that can harm with their minds. Xarik is more disciplined and uses his powers to advise, help heal and can even advise mother's of the sex of the baby they carry in their womb. Unfortunately, the Vanyi is a dieing breed. The few of his kind that are left after the Mortar invasion has destroyed his planet and that of Earth has joined with Sleer - a former boyhood friend, and now the leader of the Mortar and the enemy of the Stryxian and human people. Xarik finds Andy in an isolated area on one of his patrol flights on the ground nearly suffocating wearing prison garb and wounds indicating she was previously in shackles. His Mala-(which I assume is his soul) recognizes her as his mate, and he rushes her to safety. Later he learns that beings that look like him have captured 15 other women and hold them captured in a "vault-like" building and are being injected with drugs for an unknown reason. Once Andy recovers she and Xarik take off to find and rescue the woman.

The performance was given by one of those unyielding hate driven feminists!

It’s evident to me the narration was given by those feminist females that hate being a woman. Their mission is to wipe away all efforts to expose a new generation of women to men who are men and women who melt into their powerful character traits. Don’t let them win! Gift your daughters, nieces and granddaughters with a paperback copy of Shanna… never this trash audible version!

A 13 year old’s longing!!!

The first romance I read was Sweet Savage Love. It thrilled my young heart! Handsome strong and sometimes heartbreakingly gentle hero falls in love with a young ‘Girl’ who becomes a beautiful spirited and courageous woman! I fell in love with Wulfgar over 40 years ago and have never found a contemporary to stir me so. I’ve reread this book at least a dozen times and was enchanted all over again listening to this retelling! I hope I enjoy the Flame and the Flower as much as this!

Longest anguish!

The tale of selfless denial and heartache became old halfway through the book. The happy ending was painfully cheapened to include carnal satisfaction where I as a reader would have enjoyed amorous intimacy with souls joining as one,.. and building the family each wanted not from their bodies, but from their hearts.

i didn't think Illona could top or even equal Nevada and Rogan's book but Catalina and Alisondro have proven me wrong
