Historia
"Our Father, who art in heaven...." The opening words of the Lord's Prayer have become so familiar that we often speak them without a thought, sometimes without any awareness that we are speaking at all. But to the disciples who first heard these words from Jesus, the prayer was a thunderbolt, a radical new way to pray that changed them and the course of history. Far from a safe series of comforting words, the Lord's Prayer makes extraordinary claims, topples every earthly power, and announces God's reign over all things in heaven and on earth.

Opinionated theological fluff
Revisado: 02-04-18
The sermon on the mount is profound as is the Lord's Prayer.
This title is an academic Christian theologic interpretation of this prayer within boundary conditions of all of the understandings or misunderstandings within the mainstream Christian religion.
I tried this title wishing to understand what Christian theologians understand of this prayer of most high.
There are some good material within but it is interspersed with rigid ideals.
Problem with this content is that its conclusions simply wrap you into that of theological understanding. Fact is it is more complex than that which is understood by theologic minds. Theologians try to corner God into this not that not that.
The heart understands what these words mean. Christ did not use a theological college to interpret his words or prayers.. he sermon-ed for the common man for his simple uneducated heart to understand.
Prayer is prayer as long as you are surrendering yourself communing with your father with all your heart..but firstly get a proper translation of the Lord's Prayer from the greek.

Historia
Through decades of martial arts and meditation practice, Peter Ralston discovered a curious and paradoxical fact: that true awareness arises from a state of not knowing. Even the most sincere investigation of self and spirit, he says, is often sabotaged by our tendency to grab too quickly for answers and ideas as we retreat to the safety of the known.

Worth the slosh
Revisado: 10-23-17
The biblical sectioning especially in audio-book format is quite distracting and annoying.
The first 80% of the book is opinionated slosh but the few other chapters in the book are worth its weight in gold.
