As someone who has listened to literally hundreds of audiobooks this year and who has failed to finish many series, I was thrilled to find a series I could not stop listening to. This series had the perfect combination of intrigue, quick pacing, and spice, which kept me intensely interested until the very end.
POV and narration: Loved dual narration but single POV from FMC’s perspective. It is rare to find this! I prefer single POV because I don’t necessarily want to know what all the characters are thinking because it gives away the mystery. Both narrators were also perfect (excellent prosody and appropriate sounding age).
Story: Fantastic! The story keeps you guessing and wanting to know more. Could not stop listening!
Spice: Just the right amount! Never got bored with the spice. Plenty of explicit scenes for those of you, like me, that like some smut, but not so much that it overtakes the story and leaves you bored.
Note that all the books are on the shorter side and each book ends on cliffhanger (this is not a standalone series). The pacing is fast. I would say the romance is fast burn but because our MFC “trials” different MMCs, it feels appropriate and never gets boring. It is NOT a reverse harem despite multiple possible love interests.
