Historia
We are living through the most prosperous age in all of human history, yet we are listless, divided, and miserable. Wealth and comfort are unparalleled, but our political landscape is unmoored, and rates of suicide, loneliness, and chronic illness continue to skyrocket. How do we explain the gap between these truths? And how should we respond? For evolutionary biologists Heather Heying and Bret Weinstein, the cause of our troubles is clear: The accelerating rate of change in the modern world has outstripped the capacity of our brains and bodies to adapt.

a lot of guess work
Revisado: 10-31-21
although I think there is a lot of well thought out advice, they kind of lost me at "monogamy is the best system" they support this claim with birds do it and kids with two parents have better out comes. that whole part of the book seemed very much based in the authors own preference not science. a few other chapters were the same way. overall the book makes some decent points and at the very least gives one some perspectives about modern life to think about.

Historia
Gallileo, Copernicus, Newton, Niels Bohr, Einstein. Their insights shook our perception of who we are and where we stand in the world and in their wake have left an uneasy co-existence: science vs. religion, faith vs. empirical enquiry. Which is the keeper of truth? Which is the true path to understanding reality?

The perspective of the Convergence
Revisado: 01-17-21
I really enjoyed the book. I think the Dali Lama as a leading religious figure really has made an effort to understand science. He is clearly well educated on many subjects in the scientific fields and I enjoyed reading his perspectives on how science and religion and complement each other. Although for me, there were no scientific insights to be had in the text, I found that there were other insights to be had. I think I will read it again.
