i loved everything about this book! the narrator sent chills up my spin at times. the storyline was excellent (but i so like these type of books). a great supernatural thriller that has twists and turns that you don't see coming. it will hook you from the beginning!

heartbreaking...

This book broke my heart. That a little boy could endure so much pain and suffering from the one person that should have treasured him is unfathomable. If descriptions of graphic child abuse bother you, then this book is not for you. It was hard at times to listen to but ultimately I think it brings to light what the devasting effects of mental illness and child abuse can leave on a person.

Not What I Expected

I had read reviews for this book and thought it would be one that I would like. It was an ok book but I think it was way too long. The author's knowledge on disease is commendable. The outbreak storyline is plausible but the historic storyline was kind of farfetched for me. The narrator was very good. The book struck me as a knock off of The DaVinci Code. I just wish it would of held my attention more.
