Historia
"You'll change your mind." That's what everyone says to Jen Kirkman - and countless women like her - when she confesses she doesn't plan to have children. But you know what? It's hard enough to be an adult. You have to dress yourself and pay bills and remember to buy birthday gifts. You have to drive and get annual physicals and tip for good service. Some adults take on the added burden of caring for a tiny human being with no language skills or bladder control.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

OK. I could see someone making a movie out of it.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
It was ok. That is what I have to say first. It wasn't all bad or all good. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars overall. I think that was fair. There are so many great reviews. I had to try it. Now I have. Eh. It is as I said, "ok."
What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Ray Porter does a good job at handling so many different characters' voices. The performance is the best part.
Do you think 14 needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No.
Any additional comments?
The first half is slow...I suppose to let you get introduced to the characters and to lay down the basic story. But...there is almost no action until the second half of the story in my opinion. It also feels like it could have been written for a younger audience though I believe it is meant to be for a post-college-aged crowd.

Historia
Around the time Elizabeth Gilbert turned 30, she went through an early-onslaught midlife crisis. She went through a divorce, a crushing depression, another failed love, and the eradication of everything she ever thought she was supposed to be. To recover from all this, Gilbert took a radical step. She got rid of her belongings, quit her job, and undertook a yearlong journey around the world, all alone. This is the absorbing chronicle of that year.

Now I don't want to see the movie. It may ruin the one that played in my head as I listened to the book. The narration was impressive. I like that the author could do so a good job. Not a waste of time and I love that!

Historia
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.
