Narrators Galore!
Revisado: 01-28-19
This was extremely hard to listen to. Two narrators would have been perfect but four was way to many. Caution to the hard of hearing. Do not buy this book unless you want to spend your whole time trying to decipher who's speaking. I should have heeded the warnings of the other reviewers. I finally quit half way through.

Cop Central.........Yikes!!
Revisado: 09-20-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A change of Eve's constant anger.......time to heal this women and let her get over herself. Her attitude was acceptable in the earlier books but she has to move on. She's had therapy and a lot of counseling....it's time to have a positive attitude change. Also, every potential suspect was threatened with a trip to Cop Central if they didn't do it her way. You can count on getting an instant admonishment if you dare call her anything but Lieutenant. Real people don't act that way. She's angry all the time.
What could J. D. Robb have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Change it up a little. Leave out Eve's past childhood. Develop the characters in a new direction so we look forward to reading the next book. Keep it interesting. This is a woman that is constantly struggling with how to adapt to her new world. Let her finally be successful in that endeavor. She acts like she is from a different planet. I found myself rolling my eyes and cringing in some parts of the book. Minimize the love making scenes with Roarke....we get it.
Which character – as performed by Susan Ericksen – was your favorite?
Sommerset and Peabody remain my favorites!
Any additional comments?
I have read all the books in the series. I consider this a monetary and time investment. JD Robb is an excellent author and I will continue with the series in hopes that we will see a marked improvement in Eves attitude and more appearances of the characters that we have grown to love and respect.

In Death Series is Dying....Needs Some New Life!
Revisado: 02-18-17
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Eve almost seemed like she was screeching most of the time at Peabody and it was annoying. One of the first scenes was particularly distasteful. Peabody coming upon the first death scene and going bonkers over Eve's silver strapped evening shoes and remarking about Eve dragging her dress through the bloody mess. Their is a murder victim on the floor that Peabody completely ignores. Seemed like Eve was manic, angry and frustrated most of the time. Time to change it up.
What could J. D. Robb have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
J.D. needs to step it up a little if she plans on keeping this series going. Develop characters that we know and love and or introduce new ones. Barely a mention of Mavis, and our favorite skeleton that meets her at the front door...missed them. Same love scenes, nightmares, and problems with Eves childhood.....move on.
Which scene was your favorite?
Didn't have one this time.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Not after reading the book.
Any additional comments?
I've read all of the In Death Series and this is my very first one that I didn't like. This is not to say I won't read the next one but I hope J.D. reads the comments and takes notes.

Nicholas Sparks missed the "Spark" on this one.
Revisado: 11-12-16
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Possibly slashing the listening time from 14 hours to 1 hour. I was absolutely shocked at this book and wondered if he used a Ghost writer. Not even in the same arena with his other books. The main characters in the book, other then the 5 year old London, were just awful. I persevered and finished it but vowed to never do that again. I'd rather quit then waste my time on this kind of dribble. Unbelievable events and conversations that transpired made the book very unlikable.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I'm heading back to the classics.
What didn’t you like about Ari Fliakos’s performance?
Not his fault.........he really didn't have good characters to narrate and I can see him rolling his eyes when he had to!
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Huge disappointment, total waste of time, money and a precious credit!
Any additional comments?
I've been with Audible for years and have 3 to 4 hundred books in my library. This ranks very close to the bottom and is a real lemon!

I never asked Hemi Te Mana to rescue me. It was true that I had a lousy job. Not to mention a lousy apartment and too much responsibility, although it was a responsibility I wouldn't have given up for the world. That still didn't mean I needed rescuing, if that was what you'd call the situation I ended up in. And anyway, I knew that a multimillionaire Maori CEO with too many muscles, a tribal tattoo, and a take-no-prisoners attitude was way, way out of my league.

Fierce really Fizzled.
Revisado: 07-10-16
Would you try another book from Rosalind James and/or Claire Bocking?
Maybe after I researched the content better.
What could Rosalind James have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Less sex scenes. They became boring and unrealistic at best.
What didn’t you like about Claire Bocking’s performance?
I felt sorry for her. I have read all of the New Zealand series and she was fabulous. This book she was struggling with having to make"touch me, kiss me,do it now and give me more sound real and authentic. It really became quite boring and repetitious with each sex scene. I really didn't like her attempt at S&M.......it was way off base.
What character would you cut from Fierce?
Hope's departmental boss...........she wouldn't be missed at all. Cardboard woman.
Any additional comments?
Sorry I wasted my credit and 14 hours slogging through this dribble.

When it comes to the holidays, no story brings us back to the true spirit of giving like O. Henry’s classic "The Gift of the Magi". So this year we’ve asked some of your favorite Audible narrators—Audie Award winners Katherine Kellgren, Oliver Wyman, and Jonathan Davis—to bring to life this timeless tale, plus two more of O. Henry’s gems: "The Cop and the Anthem" and "The Last Leaf", in this holiday collection.

Disappointing
Revisado: 06-15-07
This is the first one of Susan Elizabeth Phillips novels that I have not enjoyed. The story was disjointed and the characters were unlikable. If you want to start reading her novels "DEFINITELY" don't start with this one. All the rest of her novels are more then worth the time and book credits. An excellent choice would be "Dream a Little Dream". Very..........Heart warming!

Hoag Needed a Different Narrator
Revisado: 04-12-07
As much as I enjoy Hoags novels this one fell flat because of the narration. The narrators attempt at the "Russian" accents was nothing short of horrible and ruined the listening experience. I even gave some thought to quiting the book but hung in there for the duration. The narration makes all the difference in the world.......you might consider buying the book instead of downloading it. As for the novel itself it would have scored much higher with a different narrator.

This book hooked me from the first sentence and kept me there until the end. Fast paced, suspenceful, and I didn't want it to end. I'm sure there must be a sequel in the near future because this story must go on!

You Can't Go Wrong!
Revisado: 10-16-06
I throughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Since finishing it I have found myself reflecting back on the story, several times, and remarked to myself how much I loved the story. Jodi Picoult is a master at weaving an intricate story. You have to stay on your toes and pay close attention to the many characters that are in the book but it all comes together in the end.
