Historia
Fifteen Montana cowboys and 500 longhorns are embarking on a one-of-a-kind Wild West adventure: a cattle drive across 1,000 miles of Siberia. The clash of cultures between East and West, American six shooter and Russian saber, begins immediately when a band of Cossacks arrives to escort them to their destination. Cowboys and Cossacks must work together or they’ll never survive the journey, which includes a meeting with the warrior Genghis Kharlagawl and his army of bloodthirsty Tartars.

A timeless classic

Would you listen to The Cowboy and the Cossack again? Why?
Yes! I rarely read or listen to something twice, but this story is worth a second listen. I first read the book when I was about 12 years old and I loved it then. When I saw it on Audible I decided to listen to it. I expected to be disappointed as usually old books and movies do not stand the test of time (or the change in age of the reader.) But this one did, I loved it as much or more than the first reading 40+ years later!
What other book might you compare The Cowboy and the Cossack to and why?
Any great coming of age or western. It is actually my favorite of both.
Have you listened to any of Phil Gigante’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I have not, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him and would gladly do so again.

Historia
From the far reaches of the D'Haran Empire, Bishop Hannis Arc and the ancient Emperor Sulachan lead a vast horde of Shun-Tuk and other depraved "half-people" into the Empire's heart, raising an army of the dead in order to threaten the world of the living. Meanwhile, far from home, Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell must defend themselves and their followers from a series of terrifying threats, despite a magical sickness that depletes their strength and which, if not cured, will take their lives...sooner rather than later.

Frustrating!
Revisado: 10-16-14
Would you try another book from Terry Goodkind and/or Sam Tsoutsouvas?
I will continue to read more because I have invested so much in this series already. However if this had been the first book I read, I would never read another. The last 2 books have been increasingly difficult to get through. I loved the series until then. It is as if the author thinks his readers are too stupid to remember anything. I find myself yelling out loud "I know! You told us 20 times already!" He repeats info over and over and over again. He over explains things we could so easily figure out for ourselves. I will finish this series, I hope it improves. I sincerely hope the author listens to the feedback and returns to his old style of writing.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Tower Lord by Anthony Ryan, or Canticle: Forgotten Realms The Cleric Quintet by R. A. Salvatore
Have you listened to any of Sam Tsoutsouvas’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, the narration is great, easy to listen to, easy to distinguish characters.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Severed Souls?
I would cut out all the repetitive statements.I am not sure which scenes without reviewing, but it definitely could have been shorter. The most interesting part and the most action was at the end.
Any additional comments?
I have been a fan of Terry Goodkind for many years, I would like to remain one, hopefully the next book improve.

engaging
Revisado: 01-12-12
I enjoyed this story, it instantly takes you straight into an engaging plot and the action. There are no dull minutes. The narrators set the perfect tone for the story. My only complaint is that I am running through my credits too fast because I am listening at every opportunity and going to the next book in the series quickly.
