Vulnerable, relatable and funny
Revisado: 10-25-24
Eve was vulnerable, relatable, and funny. She gave insider look to some of her biggest hits with great story telling. She expressed deep love for the people who she came up with and shared her struggles. Shared funny stories behind the music and just growing up in Philly. Read this book if you’re a hiphop fan of 90s-00s, read it if you want to know more about, read this book if you want good story telling, just read the book!

Historia
Signed to a major recording deal at just 12 years old, JoJo catapulted to the top of the pop-and-R&B-infused charts in the mid 2000's. The relatability of her youth and the appeal of her cool-girl mystique earned her millions of fans around the world. JoJo was an undeniable superstar and pop culture fixture, spanning roles in major studio films, omnipresence on Top 40 radio, frequenting magazine covers, and appearing on national TV. Then, out of the blue, everything came to a halt and JoJo seemingly stepped out of the spotlight, leaving many fans to wonder: What happened to JoJo?

A real look into a fighters story.
Revisado: 10-23-24
I really enjoyed this book. It was a real look into the author’s story and fight. She doesn’t shy away from her own flaws but owns up to them and goes into the mindset it took to get through yet continue fighting through all life love and celebrity gave her. I recommend this if you enjoy a insider look of how hard it is to become a child star and navigate through life with self sabotage mixed with obstacles given by the music industry and deep love not to hurt her loved ones along the way at times sacrificing the risk of her own happiness.

Historia
Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Overall great book
Revisado: 07-28-23
Overall this book was great on the ideals of money and classism’s. It was a bit dry at times though the narrator did a great job. You have to be in the mindset for this or it will be boring.

Historia
Fat Joe is a hip-hop legend, but this is not a tale of celebrity; it is the story of Joseph Cartagena, a kid who came of age in the South Bronx during its darkest years of drugs, violence, and abandonment, and how he navigated that traumatizing landscape until he found—through art, friendship, luck, and will—a rocky path to a different life. This memoir, written in Joe’s own intensely compelling voice, moves with the momentum of pulp fiction, but underneath the tragicomedy and riveting tales of the streets and the industry is a thought-provoking story about a generation of survivors.

Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

Revisado: 07-15-21
I came here to laugh and cry. My wife told me about the 1st ZF book about 5 years ago and I quickly ran through each and every book. Anxiously waiting for the next installment. I never been a series reader but This series has brought me so much entertainment I hate to see it end. The precursor as I started it had me worried how it was gonna end. But I was surprised and though it was sad to see it end it was a beautiful send off to some of my favorite characters. I felt Mike’s pain for all his losses through the series bc I was attached to them all as well. Thank you mark for writing such realistic and relatable characters. I can’t wait to see what else comes out in the future.

Historia
America Ferrera has always felt wholly American, and yet, her identity is inextricably linked to her parents’ homeland and Honduran culture. Speaking Spanish at home, having Saturday morning salsa-dance parties in the kitchen, and eating tamales alongside apple pie at Christmas never seemed at odds with her American identity. Still, she yearned to see that identity reflected in the larger American narrative. Now, in American Like Me, America invites 31 of her friends, peers, and heroes to share their stories about life between cultures.
