Love Twilight, Great Read, But..

I’ve absolutely always loved Twilight and the entire series, and it’s honestly really amazing to read this and see Edwards side of the start of the love story, but I genuinely think I would have enjoyed his side more so in New Moon, or Eclipse, or even more so in Breaking Dawn. I feel like his perspective for Twilight really diminishes the rest of the love story. Edward in Book 1 is an edgy, angsty, frozen 17 year old boy from a different time with obsessive tendencies now that he’s found a slice of happiness. It’s honestly more of a SAD read than anything, because he had such a low opinion of himself and it shows in his every action. He loves her, but he hates himself, so he was always planning to leave her. Up until after New Moon, he was always subconsciously one foot out the door.
It was awesome listening to a more inside take on the Cullens and how they lived before Bella, and seeing inside their minds like Edward does really gives all the characters more flavor. I feel like the writing for Rosalie and Esme is a bit of a let down, but still interesting nonetheless!
I’ve really enjoyed listing to the audio books and reigniting my love of Twilight in 2023, especially with the promise of the TV show and future Twilight Universe set books in the future! Just wish we could hear Edwards perspective on one of the other books, it would give more flavor to the love story!

Awesome Book, Mad Ending

I LOVED this book, it was written beautifully, the characters are amazing and unique, it was so creepy and gory, the ending made me unbelievably enraged! 10/10 would recommend! Especially if you’re driving alone across the country at 10pm, like I was :)
