Another awesome story and series addition

The world-building and character development are engrossing. The action pacing and scenes do not disappoint. The course of the main characters are surprising, but understandable given the ordeals they face. I greatly enjoyed this book and Mr. Bray's narration brought it to life.

The Man-Not, therefore, is a corrective of sorts, offering a concept of Black males that could challenge the existing accounts of Black men and boys desiring the power of white men who oppress them that has been proliferated throughout academic research across disciplines.

I learned about this book from Dr. T. Hasan Johnson. It has given me tools to better articulate the issues I've experienced in institutions of higher education and life in general. The greatest benefit of this book is that I am able to have deeper conversations with my oldest child as they negotiate becoming an adult. The narrator kept me engaged with the text and I looked forward to learning when I listened. Thank you Dr. Curry!!!

I really enjoyed the author's world building. It sets the story apart from similarly premised work. Detective Lewis is hard-boiled but not misanthropic. The characters are colorful and well crafted.
