Historia
Harriet and Wyn are the perfect couple—they go together like bread and butter, gin and tonic. Except, now they don't. They broke up six months ago. And they still haven't told anyone. Which is how they end up sharing a bedroom at the cottage that has been their yearly getaway with their best friends for the past decade. Only this year, Harriet and Wyn are lying through their teeth. The cottage is for sale so this is the last time they'll all be together here and they can't bear to break their friends' hearts. So, they'll fake it for one more week.

Difficult to read

I am not American. I don’t live in the USA. English is not my native language. I enjoy Audible coupled with Kindle. When I don’t understand Audible, I refer to Kindle. Recently I decided to change the genre, and “Happy Place” was my first romance text. I forced myself to the middle of the book, then flipped through the last chapters and gave up. The book is full of metaphors and “comparisons” very specific for the US life. I had to search the Internet to decipher the meaning but often even Google and MS Copilot could not help. There is hardly a story in the text but something between emotional impressions and almost erotic fantasies of the lady author. The narrator is good except when imitating male voices. This book is not for me, an aging male foreigner.
