Historia
When Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote "The Final Problem" in 1893, in which Sherlock Holmes seemed to plunge fatally to the bottom of the Reichenbach Falls in the grip of his old adversary, Professor Moriarty, he vowed to have nothing more to do with his celebrated sleuth. But the pressure of public demand, not to mention the financial offers from British and American publishers, persuaded him to relent.

Hardwicke is the Perfect Narrator

Having played Watson alongside Jeremy Brett’s Holmes, no one is better suited to narrate that great detective. Truly magnificent.

Historia
When we seek an example of great leaders with unalloyed courage, the person who comes to mind is Winston Churchill: the iconic, visionary war leader immune from the consensus of the day, who stood firmly for his beliefs when everyone doubted him. But how did young Winston become Churchill? What gave him the strength to take on the superior force of Nazi Germany when bombs rained on London and so many others had caved? In this landmark biography of Winston Churchill based on extensive new material, the true genius of the man, statesman, and leader can finally be fully understood.

Entertaining, Informative, Inspiring
Revisado: 07-28-22
This biography of Churchill is top shelf. The author goes into detail that few biographers can manage without becoming mind-numbingly boring. It’s a lively read the whole way through. It’s also a history lesson and a window into the soul of the British people of the Victorian and post-Victorian era. The narrator is excellent, too. Nice timbre and rhythm, articulate, and adept at making Churchill’s quotes sound like it is indeed he who is speaking.
