This book deserves every star that it receives
Revisado: 03-17-21
At the age of 53 I have never watched this movie although I’ve heard that it was one of the best films to watch. After reading the book I am so grateful I did not watch the movie, but that is next on my list. If you’re debating whether to pick this one up, I urge you to do so. This book is amazing and takes you three times that are long past, rich with history, rich with love and loss.

A man with a painful past. A child with a doubtful future. And a shared journey toward healing for both their hearts... It begins on the shaded town square in a sleepy Southern town. A spirited seven-year-old has a brisk business at her lemonade stand. But the little girl’s pretty yellow dress can’t quite hide the ugly scar on her chest. This book was more then just a story to me, I was also born with heart trouble and had open heart surgery at the age of 6 yrs and I know but the hand of God that he is the reason I am here today and will be turning 50 this August. This book has brought tears to my eyes more then once. I am on my fourth novel by Charles Martin and looking forward to his other stories. So far, this is my favorite.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

I found my favorite author...
Revisado: 08-31-17
I fell in with every person in this book, It deserves more then 5 stars so I'm going for 10.. I love the bridal shop with all it history and the way it touched the lives of so many through time, I felt like I was actually in the 1930s as this book played out and I was in the family a monks the women. And then in the lives of Haley and her family. I did not want this book to end. So much about it but mainly I love that they put so much of how much the Lord loves us. They did not leave him out of their lives, and we should not leave him out of ours.
