Historia
A part of me wants to run away again. The memory of my death still haunts my dreams. But this is my home now. And I'll be damned if I give it up without a fight. I mean, all I have to do is learn how to navigate xianxia politics and train for battle while simultaneously running my farm and uncovering an ancient cataclysm that apparently destroyed the Azure Hills back in the day. Meanwhile, I'm about to be a father . . . Man, I'm kinda screwed, aren't I? At least I can call in the cavalry—ahem, poultry—to help.

Nice
Revisado: 01-09-25
The entire book if you have the others under your belt already, is excellent for when you're in a sour mood. while interesting it's not as action packed as the previous but has it's own revelations, and had no problem keeping my attention.

Round one of the Eternia Beta run ends with the Task Manager getting disabled by the Administrator. Without the Task Manager’s nefarious influences, Eternia comes to life as warm hugs and sweet sunshine beat back The Pale.

Not the best in the series
Revisado: 08-07-24
For me, the story dragged through statistics and then was tedious with complaining from the main character for most of the book to then have a great big act to solve a bunch of things all at once and then repeat later. Then when it was starting to get like it might get good, it was over. This book could be skipped with a few cliffs notes. there were a few good spots and funny bits, but it's turned me off the series for a while.

Historia
The most eye-opening, and terrifying, story in Chip Reid's career as a journalist was the six weeks he spent with 3d Battalion, 5th Marines, during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, as a correspondent for NBC News. Traveling shoulder-to-shoulder with the young Marines, he had unparalleled access, witnessing them in combat, and interviewing as many as he could persuade his bosses to put on air, allowing them to tell their war stories in their own words.

Well damn...
Revisado: 12-11-23
Excellent story telling and accurate descriptions of what it was like during and after OIF. A clearly passionate work from experience and understanding.
Touches on some very important and hard pieces but not in a way that is undermining.
actual research and experience would be the selling points for me.

Historia
Once, Vlad Taltos knew his trade: he killed people for a living. That skill got him his foothold in House Jhereg, running the rackets for a chunk of urban Adrilankha. Later, things happened that left Vlad a changed man, on the run from the Jhereg and frequently involved in the affairs of Dragonlords, Empresses, and even Jenoine. Far more involved than the average human. Meanwhile, in the very distant past, one of the gods fashioned an artifact - a silver figurine of a tiassa, a winged panther-like animal.

It's a pay off if done correctly.
Revisado: 08-30-16
If you listen to 11/12 in the Taltos series switch to the Khaavren Romances/ The Viscount of Adrilankha series (5 books in all), then back to this one or the one before(Yes a little late, I know but it will still work).
Fair Waring. they are stylized and hard to get through for some folks (my self included) but it gets easier and then pretty good.
Seriously there are a bunch of jokes and other things you just wouldn't get otherwise.

New material from when Harry was a little less serious.
