Historia
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

Absolutely delightful read, this is the best narrator ever, my husband and I heard it together and could not wait for the next opportunity to keep listening. Get it, you won't regret it!

Historia
The narrator of Atwood's riveting novel calls himself Snowman. When the story opens, he is sleeping in a tree, wearing an old bedsheet, mourning the loss of his beloved Oryx and his best friend Crake, and slowly starving to death. He searches for supplies in a wasteland where insects proliferate and pigoons and wolvogs ravage the pleeblands, where ordinary people once lived, and the Compounds that sheltered the extraordinary. As he tries to piece together what has taken place, the narrative shifts to decades earlier. How did everything fall apart so quickly?

Some good parts don't make up for the rest
Revisado: 03-31-11
It has some interesting parts, but not enough to make it worth the whole listen. I finished it waiting for it to get better and more interesting, that never happened.

Postmodernist but entertaining
Revisado: 11-12-10
Even though I don't agree with her on her spiritual beliefs, I found the book very entertaining and fun to read. Forget about what others said on the reviews, this is a very personal journey and she doesn't try to appear like someone who overcome a tragedy like divorce, she is talking about overcoming herself and she tells the story in a sincere, heartfelt and even funny way. She is also a great narrator.
I say go for it, but be cautious and be careful not to swallow all she says about religion, even though it sounds very appealing on the book, her postmodernist mindset has many flaws and need to be considered in a ver critical way before falling for it.

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Utterly BOOOOOOOOORING!
Revisado: 05-26-10
What a disappointment. I heard the first 7 hours (the book is 5 parts and each one is about 7hrs) and I was hoping to be engaged by the book by it, I was not, I skipped to the 3rd part to see if it got any better, it did not. The characters are not deep, the situations are boring, everything is just bad. The plot and the idea is intriguing but badly executed. Don't waste your money on this book, it's not even worth a credit.

Historia
Every so often a love story so captures our hearts that it becomes more than a story—it becomes an experience to remember forever. The Notebook is such a book. It is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, a tale that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all over again . . .

I would recommend it to a friend
Revisado: 10-16-09
Like others have said before, the end of this book was not a real end, I agree and would've like a bit more closure. BUT, don't let this stop you from buying it! You will enjoy it. It's been a while since I enjoy an audiobook so much (and I get bored easily), it is easy to follow and full of layers. Good book!

Not Bad
Revisado: 04-04-09
This book is a lighter read, it has some nice philosophical insights but is not a thinking, deep book. The characters are ok, and the story of the dog's owner is not the most original. But the book is entertaining and I fairly enjoyed it.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Somewhat Good
Revisado: 03-06-09
This a nice story but not as engaging as some people have said. It is entertaining and has some nice touches on the details of the story. The characters are not as developed as I would like but still the author managed to make me care for the a bit. I don't regret buying it.
