The Female Narrator...

Kenya Wright is a genius and I loved the story, but the female narrator's voice was a bit too high which made her sound really young. It was a bit discordant considering the material.

The first book was decent but this one seemed silly,but not in a "comical" way, and amateurish. It was like there was no security at all for the Bratva and anyone could take them on. Really? I know that this is fiction, but come on!

The Female Narrator (Do better)...

The story is soild, it's really very good, but the female narrator needs to work on her pronunciation. The sheer number of mispronounced words was startling, and it ripped me out of the story each time. I would recommend this author to a friend, but I would steer clear of the narrator.

Keeping in mind that I am only 2 hours in, but... Seriously, does no one else see that this is the porn version of that old 80's movie "Working Girl"? This is my first time reading this author, so I'm still giving it a chance, but if the plot does not severely deviate or if she doesn't give a nod to the original, I'm calling this one a rip off.

To say that I struggled to finish this one would be an understatement. The MFC's parents were so excited to get her out of the house that they threw her at a perfect stranger? What parent does that? Her sister was protective of her until she found out that the guy could help jumpstart her business, then she was team "stranger" and gaslit the hell out of her sister. The MFC was immature, but it felt like she was more insecure than immature, and with her "support" system, no wonder. As for MFC being a doormat for her former best friend, see my previous comment about her "support" system, again, no wonder. The entire book was laden with unhealthy relationships, and it was not to my taste. Toxic relationships masked by decent comedy are not my ish. It's a shame because there were some real laugh out loud moments, and I love this author.

SPOILER! I love the NFH series, but...

Do not get me wrong. This is a great book and the actors are fantastic! I still have three hours to go on this one, and I have to say, " Where the hell is the parental support???" The Bradfords are all about family, but no one but Sebastián was there for Mikey! The math is not mathing here!!! The Bradfords always have each other, yet no one could make it to her tryouts or practice? I have faith that this will resolve later on, but the lack of support doesn't feel right or in keeping with the Bradfords as previously written.

I am such a fan of Tate James, and this series was phenomenal for the first two books, so I could not wait to read the final installment which made it so much more disappointing when it wrapped up so quickly and was so lackluster. This is just my opinion, but it felt like the story ran out of gas. That is the only way that I can describe it. I am still a Tate James fan and will still voraciously consume everything that she writes, but I will always be honest, and this was my least favorite Tate James wrap-up.
