give it a shot
Revisado: 01-26-25
so the narrator and the performance was amazing Tim Gerard Reynolds is always a delight he brings all the characters to life good female and male voices the story is a young adult but it does have mature themes and the author walks the line of mature and adolescence in his writing so well I would say it's appropriate for 1213 and over and it is perfectly enjoyable for adults as well I gave it five out of five and I'm reading the whole series I can't wait for the next one good action decent fight scenes decent world building first one is a little slow but not too much so and then about the middle of it it starts to wrap up and plenty of action thoroughly enjoyed highly recommend

Historia
When an unknown someone shoots him and leaves him to die, Harry Dresden hopes he might be heading to a better place. Unfortunately being dead doesn't make Harry's life any easier. Trapped between life and death, he learns that his friends are in serious trouble. Only by finding his murderer can he save his friends and move on - a feat that would be a lot easier if he had a body and access to his powers. Worse still are the malevolent shadows that roam Chicago, controlled by a dark entity that wants Harry to suffer even in death.

Historia
In a blind rage, King James, ex-slave and now Marlowe's comrade in arms, slaughters the crew of a slave ship and makes himself the most wanted man in Virginia. The governor gives Marlowe a choice: Hunt James down and bring him back to hang or lose everything Marlowe has built for himself and his wife, Elizabeth. Marlowe sets out in pursuit of the ex-slave turned pirate, struggling to maintain control over his crew—rough privateers who care only for plunder—and following James's trail of destruction.

a piradical depiction of blackbirders
Revisado: 06-05-23
James Nelson hits it out of the park again giving it a historical depiction of blackbirders seeing through The eyes of a freed slave and a former pirate book 2 in his pirate round series filled with historical facts and plenty of action it has a lot of the horrors of slavery depicted in the book but it does not dwell on it overly, tells you about the history and about the people but it is also a fun fiction book

Historia
Shortly after Thomas Marlowe's arrival in Williamsburg, Virginia, all in that newfound capital city are speaking his name. With the bounty from his years as a pirate—a life he intends to renounce and keep forever secret—he purchases a fine plantation from a striking young widow, and soon after kills the favorite son of one of Virginia's most powerful clans while defending her honor. But it is a daring feat of remarkable cunning that truly sets local tongues wagging: a stunning move that wins Marlowe command of Plymouth Prize, the colony's decrepit guardship.

The succubus stuff was a bit much but overall it's just fascinating to see what a mimic can do and I keep reading because I kind of just have to know where this is going and the humor is pretty darn good The overall performance is amazing The voice actor can do so many different voices it's a very impressive.

not as bad as at first seemed
Revisado: 10-10-22
so to give you a general idea of this book The jokes are juvenile but still good The premise is extremely interesting and you're kind of asking yourself where is this going and without spoiling anything the book ends with out you really knowing where it's going but it's definitely going in a direction that you want to keep following to see what's going to happen if you're a fan of dungeons & dragons or similar games you'll fit right in as it is a very game-themed story overall I enjoyed it and laughed a few times The narrating was amazing pitched perfect and had a variety of different voices hats off to the narrator

Historia
More than one hundred years after Columbus blundered onto Hispaniola, the West Indies are held in Spain's iron fist, and no threat to that absolute rule is tolerated. But such total control cannot last, and one threat will emerge as the most dangerous of all: the buccaneers. Camped on the shore of Hispaniola, these half-wild men eke out a living hunting the island's feral livestock. Among them, Jean-Baptiste LeBoeuf lives out his exile, content that no one in the hunters' camp is curious about his past. But when a hurricane sweeps through the Caribbean, it upends their rough existence.
