Entretenido, sin caer en sentimentalismo. Muy recomendable, se aprecia el esfuerzo del escritor de mostrar a los conquistadores como gente normal, humana (para lo bueno y lo malo).

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Really interesting subject. It is amazing how US History books don't mention Galvez and any american kid knows about Lafayette, who didn't do a tenth of what Galvez did for US independence
How could the performance have been better?
The reader constantly butchered Spanish names. It is quite difficult to understand him when he mention any Spanish name.

Would you listen to La reina del sur [The Queen of the South] again? Why?
Si.
Como casi todas las novelas de Perez Reverte muy bien escrito, con jerga de España y Mexico, centrado en detalles veraces que se agradecen. Una pena que el lector no haga justicia a las diferentes jergas con diferentes acentos (sobretodo de España y Mexico), aunque es entendible que es dificil de ejecutar.
La trama engancha. Y la habilidad de Perez Reverte por describir con mutltitud de detalles, te hace sumerjerte en el relato. Muy recomendable para pasar un buen rato.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
NO. I heard a lot about this book. I was really eager to listen to it…and…the first chapter is FULL of errors. For example, the book says that Columbus left to the Azores- Spain, those islands belonged (and still do) to Portugal and reported to the Spanish Court in Madrid. Madrid was declared Spain’s capital on 1561 almost 68 years later than Columbus return from his first voyage. It seems that Zinn did not do his homework and I wonder if the rest of the book is full of errors as well. I regret spent the money in this book.
