Historia
In a world where supernaturals and humans are separated by walls, there is magic to be magicked and quests that still need questing. Yes, quest as a verb. I, Zamira “Reckless” Wilson, thought I had done my part. With a little help from those I love, we stopped the bad guys from mucking up our side of the wall. We won the battle and were left standing on this side of the dirt. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. But a curse from long ago, cast to ensure everything in my life would eventually go wrong has now come full circle.

Fascinating, empowering and adventurous!
Revisado: 01-13-21
I have fallen in love with Shannon Mayer and her beautiful imagination. She takes me to lands I’ve never seen in any book or movies with exquisite detail for my minds eye to behold. I’m so addicted to her books that I spent money for 6 extra credits to listen to this entire series AND another 3 extra credits for the next series I’m diving into. Thank you for letting me fall so deeply in love with reading fantasy adventure books again. I’m sure I’ll be disappointed in any other authors who write this genre after I run out of your books available on audible. Please keep them coming! I love the strong rebellious Zamira who has the right kind of heart to balance the scale of justice.

Astonishing & Fascinating & Wonderful Read
Revisado: 01-01-21
I fell in love with the very first five minutes of this book. Partially due to its basis on a true story and an ongoing issue in the United States but also well written beautifully by Grisham and excellent delivery by Michael Beck. John Grisham does it again! I’ve heard wonderful stories about the adventures my father has had reading John Grisham‘s book for years, and with this one I couldn’t stop listening. I finish this book in just a few days after starting it around doing all of my other responsibilities and work. I was hooked from the jump! Thank you to the author for writing such an amazing piece of information and acknowledging the problem in the United States in a venue through your artistry that allows you to reach millions of people. Well done to you, Mr. Grisham, and to your choice of narrator. Mr. Beck’s performance of your book was artful and gave me a beautiful visual of the entire story, even down to the haunted old farmhouse. Bravo and thank you both!

Fell in love with the Queens!
Revisado: 12-21-20
I’ve listened to all the episodes twice at least, but this episode I’ve now heard 3 times and going on a fourth. It’s my favorite episode because of these amazing warriors that were a matriarchal society and respected like royalty both diplomatically and locally. I have an amazing vision of these women because of Bonnie’s remarkable descriptions. Although highly unlikely, I’m curios if this ancient tribe was the inspiration for where Wonder Woman came from.

She’s the most influential person in the civil rights movement you’ve probably never heard of. As the series draws to a close, Bonnie visits her beloved British Museum to ask what is the legacy of all these untold stories - and how we can reshape our history to tell a richer tale about our world.

Loving every episode! Listened twice!!!
Revisado: 12-21-20
Absolutely brilliant! This subject has never been like this in any of my classes throughout even my college years. It’s well researched, open and honest, and delivered so perfectly that I couldn’t stop listening. I would love to take a class or series of lectures from Bonnie Greer on this series and any more to come regarding Africans, who the various regions really were, how they evolved, how they fought, how they communicated through song/stories/dance, how they survived so much hatred and pain; and mostly, what I can do to help change their still-oppressed race in the USA. I’ve been educating myself for several decades now through friends, family, biographies, true stories in documentaries/film/researching specific historical figures/etc., and yet, I learned SO MUCH MORE about the TRUTH in this series. Please keep them coming because I’m hungry for more true knowledge on this subject.

Historia
In 1912, scientist Marie Curie spent two months on the British seaside at the home of Hertha Ayrton, an accomplished mathematician, inventor, and suffragette. At the time, Curie was in the throes of a scandal in France over her affair with Paul Langevin, which threatened to overshadow the accomplishment of her second Nobel Prize. Performed by Kate Mulgrew and Francesca Faridany at the Minetta Lane Theatre, this play by Lauren Gunderson is an ode to two remarkable women.

Smart, Inspirational & Deeply Touching
Revisado: 12-12-19
I absolutely loved it and will listen again and again!!! This story is relatable for all women because at some time in our lives we get opportunities to experience this kind of friendship, even if only for a moment.
Kate & Francesca deliver a stunning performance of Lauren Gunderson’s story of true friendship and unconditional love. Against all odds, two brilliant women, oceans apart, come together to love, honor, and support each other in a true, war-torn, man’s world. The witty, passionate, sarcastic, protective, honest; and most of all, compassionate sisterhood is a beautiful story of the strength and healing we can find in true friendship. These two women reflect just how important our sister-friends are for all of us as we navigate this, still male-dominated world. While we may not all be trailblazers in our daily lives, the role we have with the women, our sisters, may be one of the most important ever in our lives.
The author reflects Herther’s unapologetic, strong willed nature along with her genuine admiration and love for Marie; as well as, Marie’s deep respect and devotion to Herther. With this unconditional love, comes Herther’s unwavering commitment to the sisterhood and often brutal honesty. Additionally, Marie returns this love with as much love and devotion to the sisterhood as she has brilliance and passion for science. These women have paved the road for man & woman-kind, shaping the world and life as we know it over the past century with the brilliance, drive and strength to stand up, in their fields AND show up in their friendship.
Against all odds, women are often defined by our “missteps” rather than our strengths, humanity and commitment to those we hold dear. This touching story between two women reflects what the world always needs more of, unconditional love and respect for each other.
Thank you Ms. Gunderson, for giving us this gift of greatness! This is my first time “reading”, or experiencing one of your books. I look forward to discovering more treasures and thoughtful insights you have to share with the world.
