Historia
Getting a life isn't always easy. And hanging on to it is even harder.... Jodi Taylor brings all her comic writing skills to this heartwarming tale of self-discovery. Known as The Nothing Girl because of her severe stutter and chronically low self-confidence, Jenny Dove is only just prevented from ending it all by the sudden appearance of Thomas, a mystical golden horse only she can see. Under his guidance Jenny unexpectedly acquires a husband - the charming and chaotic Russell Checkland.

Beautifully Perfect

I loved this book. LOVED it. I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks, and I have never felt so compelled to write a review. I love Jodi Taylor, have listened to all of the St. Mary’s books, which I also love; but this book was just perfect.

Historia
The Impossible Fortress begins with a magazine. The year is 1987, and Playboy has just published scandalous photographs of Vanna White, from the popular TV game show Wheel of Fortune. For three teenage boys - Billy, Alf, and Clark - who are desperately uneducated in the ways of women, the magazine is somewhat of a Holy Grail: priceless beyond measure and impossible to attain. So, they hatch a plan to steal it.

Cute story, easy listening. As others have mentioned, the reading of the code at the beginning of each chapter was really annoying, but I just skipped through it. Otherwise, fun book!

Historia
After decades of planning, the contagion was unleashed, and overnight hundreds of millions died and came back as rampaging, undead monsters. The living that had been lucky enough to survive the first day of carnage, lucky enough to be in the right place, and lucky enough that some of them had the skills to survive soon found out there was much more to worry about than just zombies.

Story: good. Narrator: ok. Author: SO racist
Revisado: 06-06-18
I have listened to many many zombie series. This is not one of the better ones, but it kept my interest well enough. It’s not until towards the end of the book that the author’s political leanings and distaste for a particular group is made very clear.
The narrator is pretty monotone and boring.

Historia
The Bourne Identity meets Divergent in this action-packed debut thriller with a Katniss-esque heroine fighting to regain her memories and stay alive, set against a dystopian hospital background.
Sarah starts a crazy battle for her life within the walls of her hospital-turned-prison when a procedure to eliminate her memory goes awry and she starts to remember snatches of her past. Was she an urban terrorist or vigilante? Has the procedure been her salvation or her destruction?
The answers lie trapped within her mind. To access them, she'll need the help of the teen computer hacker who's trying to bring the hospital down for his own reasons, and a pill that's blocked by an army of mercenary soldiers poised to eliminate her for good. If only she knew why…
"This is a snap-the-whip story, dark and fast. The sparks of humor in the voice won me over. Bottom line: I think the cocktail of suspense and believable smart-assery adds up to an addictive dose of reader appeal." —Blythe Woolston, author of the William C. Morris Award winner The Freak Observer

I was bored by it after the first hour. Did not like the narrator at all - particularly her men's voices

Monotone Narrator
Revisado: 05-15-14
What didn’t you like about Heidi Madagame’s performance?
She has this deep, very monotone voice. Every sentence has the same rhythm. I'm sure the story is very interesting, but I only got about an hour in, because her voice was putting me to sleep...

Is Mrs. Doubtfire narrating this?
Revisado: 05-14-14
What disappointed you about Halfway to the Grave?
The narrator's horrible moronic attempt at an English accent. She makes the character of Bones sound like Eliza Doolittle, instead of a sexy vampire. It makes the book completely in-listenable for me.
What was most disappointing about Jeaniene Frost’s story?
Pretty boring, basic vampire stuff. Nothing new, interesting or unique.
What didn’t you like about Tavia Gilbert’s performance?
Anytime she tried to do any voice aside from her own, it's pretty much a joke.
Any additional comments?
I really don't get why everyone seems to like this.
