Historia
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

crappy sound recording

The story is interesting but why all the cheesy musical interludes.
Revisado: 09-14-24
If the dropped the cheesy, overly loud music, and some of the odd sound effects it'd be much better. The story was interesting so it's a shame it's brought down by the poor audio choices.

Historia
At first, only a few things are known about the celestial object that astronomers dub Rama. It is huge, weighing more than ten trillion tons. And it is hurtling through the solar system at inconceivable speed. Then a space probe confirms the unthinkable: Rama is no natural object. It is, incredibly, an interstellar spacecraft. Space explorers and planet-bound scientists alike prepare for mankind's first encounter with alien intelligence.

I really enjoyed the story. The narration was insanely slow. I sped it up and it was so much better. I almost feel like it was slowed down artificially because I just don't see how some one could read that slowly.

Historia
James Lyle, Anesh Patel, and Alanna Byrne have spent much of the past year exploring a secret realm in which the phrase "cubicle hell" isn't just a metaphor. Stalked like prey by sentient staplers and hostile computer hardware, the trio has managed to amass a collection of magical abilities that are rapidly adding up to something more significant. But they aren't content to just sit back and take it easy; rather, they hope to harness their newfound power to benefit humanity.

This series is one of my favorites! Argus tells amazing stories. I've already pre-ordered the next book! If you haven't already, check out his discord and Patreon. He's very cool to chat with and it's very cool to have so much insight into the process. (I'm not affiliated with him in any way. 😊)

A lot of detail but...
Revisado: 02-20-24
I just couldn't get into this one. There is a ton of details setting up the characters and general area; however, I felt like 75% of it wasn't really needed. The story is just so slow. It was almost 6 or 7 chapters before anything really Sci-fi-ish happened. It may just be my personal preferences. if you like digging into the minutia of the characters everyday life, this story might be for you.

Historia
You might think a month away from fighting sentient cubical supplies in a threatening alt-reality office would mean a break for James Lyle. But . . . you'd be wrong. Even though James has taken a beat from adventuring into the dungeon hidden within the stairwell of his workplace, he's been dealing with plenty of stress-inducing issues, from raising a recently corporeal infomorph to navigating his newly minted relationship with his best friends, fighting his own depression, and wrestling with the moral implications of his burgeoning powers.

Performance is great and the story just draws you in. I love that there are positive, healthy queer relationships and that it addresses issues like sexism head on.

Historia
Ever since James Lyle found an alternate dimension hidden in the stairwell of his workplace, things have been, well, weird. For one thing, when he’s not working the night shift, he’s battling killer mail carts and ravenous swarms of sticky notes. For another, he’s dealing with some very complex and intense emotions for several of his friends. Meanwhile, his parents have offloaded his younger sister on him. As if all this weren’t enough, James’s voyages into the dungeon world seem to be having a strange effect on the world in which he actually lives.

Great story!
Revisado: 12-27-23
The story picks up and expands from the first one. There is a focus on the relationships of the characters but it adds to the depth of the story. They are also nothing like what's described by some of the previous homophobic reviews. Rated pg, maybe pg-13 but that'd be a stretch. I personally appreciate that different relationship types are portrayed as normal and in a complex, healthy manner! Kudos to Argus!

Historia
Titan, Wizard, and Demon have enthralled a generation of readers with adventure, humor, horror, and dazzling imagination. Now, in the epic conclusion of John Varley's masterpiece, the satellite-sized Gaea has gone completely insane. She has trapped humans in her mind. She has transformed her love of old movies into monstrous realities. She is Marilyn Monroe. She is King Kong. And she must be destroyed.

music plays over the narrator at times, it's incredibly annoying and loud. It's just a few times for a minute or so; however, if your trying to relax it's jarring. I hope they redo this with a cleaner production.

Historia
John Varley's monumental trilogy - Titan, Wizard, and Demon - has achieved cult status, hailed as a modern triumph of the imagination by critics and fans. It begins with humankind's exploration of a massive satellite orbiting Saturn. It culminates in a shocking discovery: the satellite is a giant alien being. Her name is Gaea. Her awesome interior is mind-boggling - because it is a mind. A mind that calls out to explorers...and transforms all who enter.

Interesting story but..
Revisado: 06-12-23
The story is a bit slow in places but it's because the author is setting up the rest of the story. There is more sex than I expected but I feel like it's an interesting exploration of sexuality and gender.
That said the production is awful. this is mostly because it starts out with loud music over top of the narrator's voice. It then stops in the middle of the book and reintroduces it like it's starting at the beginning with more music. it's quite jarring and really takes away from the story. the narrator herself isn't bad and it's a shame that those mistakes are there.

One of the greatest science-fiction epics ever written, John Varley's Titan, Wizard, and Demon comprise a groundbreaking trilogy that will live forever. The narrator is fine, story is unique, but...
Revisado: 06-12-23
For the love of Gaia, whoever put the loud music over the voice of the narrator at the beginning, randomly in the middle, and at the end should find a new line if work. This was the only thing I'd really complain about. I hope the do a new, better production. Oh and the chapters don't line up. In the middle, it seems like it's starting over but really it's just poor production.
Other than that it's definitely an interesting story that melds aliens, gender, sexuality, and mythology.
