Written for the Gifted
Revisado: 04-18-22
This book is written by a gifted individual, for gifted individuals. If you are not gifted and are looking to understand gifted individuals, understanding this text will require you to expand your thinking past your current stereotypes and beliefs. This book is very validating for those of us who are gifted. You'll easily see yourself in the examples, and the advice given validates our way of thinking and being versus attempting to fit us into a mold acceptable by others. Great read.

The solutions seem very much like how narcissists and sociopaths analyze and disarm their victims. Direct communication is always better- and anyone going through the trouble of analyzing in this way raises red flags (especially with such tactics like mirroring emphasized.) Also, the indicators of dishonesty are very general and doesn't take into account differences in culture, personality, etc. Following these maye lead you to think that everyone who doesn't behave and belief as a standard suburban male or female is indeed untrustworthy. The book is a good, broad foundation, but misses on many points.

Historia
One third to one half of Americans are introverts in a culture that celebrates - even enforces - an ideal of extroversion and a cult of personality. Political leaders are charismatic, celebrities bask in the spotlight, and authority figures are assertive. It is no surprise that a quiet revolution has begun to emerge among the invisible half of the population, asserting that they are just as powerful in their own unique ways. The Irresistible Introvert embodies the spirit of this revival and breaks down the myth that charisma is reserved for extroverts only.

Bravo!!

Bravo Michaela!! Your entire book, cover to cover, fully encapsulates the true introvert experience. There are do many other books out there that generalixe or marginalize introversion, but you paint a realistic picture of what goes on in our minds. This is the ONLY book I've read on introversion that I agree with 100%! Again, bravo! And thank you for taking the time and energy to show the world who we truly are.
