Historia
Former Army brat Morgan Albright has finally planted roots in a friendly neighborhood near Baltimore. Her friend and roommate Nina helps her make the mortgage payments, as does Morgan's job as a bartender. But after she and Nina host their first dinner party—attended by Luke, the flirtatious IT guy who'd been chatting her up at the bar—her carefully built world is shattered. The back door glass is broken, cash and jewelry are missing, her car is gone, and Nina lies dead on the floor.

Excellent listen
Revisado: 07-11-23
Between Nora Robert’s written dialog and the narrator’s talented reading, this book was a great listen. This pairing is what I recommend to my friends who say they don’t do audible books. The story kept you involved and listening and the the narrator was able to make each character have their own voice.

Great narrator but…
Revisado: 05-17-23
I enjoyed Hanks reading but the stories didn’t keep me awake. At least with the short story format, I could just move on to the next one even if I slept through the end of one. Probably not worth buying.

Historia
Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Surêté du Québec and his team of investigators are called in to the scene of a suspicious death in a rural village south of Montreal. Jane Neal, a local fixture in the tiny hamlet of Three Pines, just north of the U.S. border, has been found dead in the woods. The locals are certain it’s a tragic hunting accident and nothing more, but Gamache smells something foul in these remote woods, and is soon certain that Jane Neal died at the hands of someone much more sinister than a careless bowhunter.

Too slow
Revisado: 04-17-23
Difficult to follow because of numerous characters but the narrator didn’t help make them different. Also hard because of the French accent. I restarted it so many times and really tried to like it, but it was too slow. I did finish it, but didn’t love the ending.

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Proably better in print
Revisado: 08-16-19
Without the visual cues to breaks in continuity, it is a little difficult to follow at times

Historia
Dr. Emory Charbonneau, a pediatrician and marathon runner, disappears on a mountain road in North Carolina. By the time her husband Jeff, miffed over a recent argument, reports her missing, the trail has grown cold. Literally. Fog and ice encapsulate the mountainous wilderness and paralyze the search for her. While police suspect Jeff of "instant divorce," Emory, suffering from an unexplained head injury, regains consciousness and finds herself the captive of a man whose violent past is so dark that he won't even tell her his name.

The story was great with well written characters. Everything is not as it seems. The narrator did a great job making the characters different.

An easy listen that I loved
Revisado: 06-11-15
This was a well constructed story that moved quickly and was entertaining. I cared about the characters and thought the dialog well written. This audio book was difficult to turn off.
The performance was great, making it a very easy listening book.
I would recommend this for a first time listener as it is short and concise. Also this author did not feel the need to add unnecessary sex or language to sell his book. The story stayed on point with sharp characters.
I will listen again and am going to recommend it to my father as his first audio book.
