Wonderful, hockey romance!

This book was a perfect drama-free hockey romance listen! Connor Crais and CJ Bloom did a great job of bringing Declan and Jade to life! They’re both quickly becoming new favorite narrators.

I love a “he falls first”, marriage of convenience. But something about his earnest pursuit of his wife made Declan wiggle his way into my heart. For me, the spice was a perfect amount of simmer to boil. I feel as though Jade’s troubles and past heartaches definitely held her back from realizing she was worth so much more than her jerk ex and she found that in her replacement groom. This was my first Rebecca Jenshak novel but will definitely not be the last! I’ve already recommended to all my bookish besties that love hockey romance.

I went into this completely blind. Not knowing what Hawke and Kieran were. I managed to stay off social media when I saw anything FBAA and wanted to surprise myself. I have read and listened to this so many times. The world building and character development are fantastic, it’s easy to see why you can lose yourself in this series.

Stina’s voice is such a soothing calm and a ferocious one all in the same breath. I would listen to her read Lysol cans.

Mad, Mad Love

I absolutely fell in love with Milo and Tessa! This single dad, fake fiancé, with small town vibes had me hooked from the first chapter. He’s a hard working to hard on himself dad to two kids and she’s just what everyone needs to become whole again. A.L. Jackson is a new to me author but I will be coming back for more because I need to know how the brothers came together with Tessa’s friends. Lots of twists, this was a great listen!!

Isolde is so strong. She’s easily one of my favorite female characters of SSC.

What is this madness? What did I just listen to?! Love and heartbreak and love and heartbreak. More love and more heartbreak. Only to be put back together! JT is the master of her craft.

5 stars across the board and I promise you, you won’t be made about the one click purchase.

Dirty Business

I didn’t feel the instant love that the characters did towards each other. But grew to love them and that they stuck to their moral compass as their story grew more complicated! I can’t wait to read the second book focusing on Ashton later this year.

Amazing narration work by the voice actors.

A sweet & spicy coming of age

A coming of age story starting with high school angst of Tyler and Annie to working adults. It evolves to a beautiful story of tension, a push and pull of the person you love most. So much you set them free because you think you hold them back. I love how the story develops and truly see how their love grows between them and the people in their lives. Who they are as people, as a couple, and creatives will be tested at every opportunity.

This was my first Piper Lawson series and I can’t wait to go back into the world of Jax and Hailey! Rivals is a box set of the A Love Song for Liars, A Love Song for Rebels, and a Love Song for Dreamers. There is an extended epilogue wrap up of their story in A Love Song for Always and a prequel novella called Love Notes.

You can’t hide, Red!

Griffin was a good MC story turned great listen. I loved the narrators and the emotion they brought to the story. Griffin was a bad boy turned straight by the love of woman. I liked the way the author humanized the villains. Everyone has traumas from their past that they bring into their present and these characters are no exception. Miscommunications and deceit happens but sometimes that second chance is just at the perfect time. I would definitely read/listen to The Vengeance story after this.

Part horror, part bestie love song.

Few things last through the trials of time. The love of a dog, the fact that Diet Coke is better than Pepsi, and the love of a best friend.

I was NOT prepared. Their friendship was so relatable and palpable I had tears at the end.

Some of the cultural references were lost on me because I wasn’t around for that part of the 80s, but the build up of characters and their world made up for that part. I feel like the dialogue was very 80s based on what I’ve seen in the movies and the writing style matched up.
