Historia
There is a stranger outside Caroline's house. Her husband is lying to her, so when the stranger, Aiden, shows up as a bartender at the same party where Caroline and her husband have a very public fight, it doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary. As her marriage collapses around her and the lavish lifestyle she's built for herself starts to crumble, Caroline turns to Aiden for comfort...and revenge. After a brief and desperate fling that means nothing to Caroline and everything to him, Aiden's obsession with Caroline, her family, and her house grows more and more disturbing.

Had potential
Revisado: 07-08-24
The story had real potential to become a good plot. Scorned wife with young lover who just might be a sociopathic murderer
The ending was predictable. The narration was not good, using an annoying Long Island accent for Aiden and the sister and a very high pitched and whiny voice for the teenage daughter
I know it can’t be easy, but for an eight hour novel, it really starts grating on your ears.
There was also some mispronunciation of keywords in her narration. Not allocate- allocute.
I’m not going to read/audible anymore of her novels
The Intern was good, but none of the others equal that one

Started out good
Revisado: 07-03-24
The plot started out well and developed into an interesting storyline then… it just went off the rails into a strange and hard to follow and unbelievable direction
The ending was a let down

Well developed characters
Revisado: 06-10-24
I liked this more than I expected when it was recommended to me. The story line was good and had unexpected twists.
The characters were all well developed by the author.
The narrator used a high pitched little girl voice for the main character, especially when she was frightened. She also used an Eastern European accent for a Jamaican character. ?? Unfortunately, I will not listen to another book narrated by Ms. Christensen.
The ending squished in last minute facts, to bring all the characters to a finale, but overall it was a good listen.
