Such a unique perspective on our purpose in life. Keith Craft has thought through this for a long time. Read the entire book front to back and then read it again. It’s a foundational inspiration.

Historia
There are times in life when we look back and feel desperate to make time stand still, especially when unexpected change happens and all we want is for things to go back to how they were. But we can't stop the flow of life, and we can't stop time. And looking back doesn't enable us to go back. It just makes us stuck. In a place. In a space. In a memory. In a mindset. In a habit.

Protects and strengthens your heart
Revisado: 02-08-24
No one can comfort you when you are being pulled down into grief as well as someone who has been there. The Evans family has been there — feeling pulled down into deep and relentless grief. Our enemy is heartless, and he will try to take advantage of any Christian’s grief. This uniquely authored message has been a weapon to fend off the enemy and simultaneously a wonderful, hot cup of wellness tea, soothing, strengthening and comforting me. Divine Disruption is 100% worth the read for anyone desperate for faith from the depths. I am listening to it for the second time now. Clearly what the enemy meant for evil for the Evans has been turned into something precious and profound.

Historia
There is a missing force in Christianity today. It's a critical one, and its absence has led to weak believers, disintegrating families, ineffective churches, and a decaying culture. Without it, we lack what we need to fully live as heaven's representatives on earth. That missing force is discipleship. In Kingdom Disciples, Tony Evans outlines a simple, actionable definition of discipleship to help the church fulfill its calling.

So this is what it means to follow Jesus
Revisado: 02-26-22
This is my second time listening to this audiobook. I am also reading the hardback.
Tony Evans has a deep, abiding, and special relationship with Jesus. He’s absolutely done his homework. It has been a privilege and a delight to be encouraged, enlightened, coached, instructed, and comforted in this often misunderstood journey.
Along the way somewhere I have really missed the boat. I have to say it has been confusing to me to look around at American churches and ask myself: what is a disciple?
It is inspiring, motivating, and refreshing to hear the straight-up truth about what it means to 100% follow Jesus and influence others to do the same.

Maybe better as a book than an audible.
Revisado: 08-21-20
This has some really amazing and inspiring ideas, but I would describe the narration cadence here as choppy. I would enjoy reading the book more I think, although I'm also committed to listening to the end.
I want to buy the book and re-study the many survey results; to me, those are kind of hard to process while listening and driving in a big city. The authors did their homework and this well-presented evidence peppers every chapter. Also, it's the kind of evidence that you want to pass on to others, especially if you are wanting to create a workplace where people thrive and grow.

Historia
The days of cultural Christianity are fading. It's time to rethink normal. Suffering and exclusion are normal in a believer's life. At least they should be. This was certainly Jesus' experience. And it's the experience of countless Christians around the world today. No matter your social location or set of experiences, the biblical letter of 1 Peter wants to redefine your expectations and reinvigorate your hope.

The narrator tends to drop in volume and articulation at the end of each sentence. Some “s” sounds are whistled. Swapping this book out.

Life changing.
Revisado: 02-21-20
I met Nik Ripken in the spoken pages of this book during a season of grief in my life. No one cataclysmic event pulled me down. Instead, a series of rejections had begun to take a toll. From chapter one of this audiobook, my wallowing in frustration gave way to a hopeful marveling over Nik Ripken's tenderhearted vulnerability. Then a sense of perspective began to set me free. As the book unfolded, describing some of the hundreds of interviews Nik conducted, I was allowed to meet so many brave brothers and sisters from all over the world. They were facing losses ten, twenty and a hundred times more grievous and unjustified than my own. My heart softened. Over the two-week time that I listened to the Insanity of God, I became sane. Story after story built the case I needed so badly to hear: because Jesus was so insanely kind to come down into this lost and horrible world, I could trust Him again.
