Present day challenge and historical mystery
Revisado: 10-05-23
This second book in the series is well developed and entertaining. I hope to find there are additional books written or in the works for the secondary characters whose lives are not neatly wrapped up.

Historia
As a senior acquisitions editor for Fog Harbor Books in San Francisco, Ingrid Erikson has rejected many a manuscript for lack of defined conflict and dramatic irony—two elements her current life possesses in spades. In the months following the death of her childhood best friend and international bestselling author Cece Campbell, Ingrid has not only lost her ability to escape into fiction due to a rare trauma response, but she's also desperate to find the closure she is convinced will come with Cece's missing final manuscript.

Words gained
Revisado: 04-13-23
A major element in this story is the main character’s loss of the visual story that runs in the reader’s brain as she reads. Ironically, Nicole Deese crafts the words in this book so well make it will be hard for me to remember if I read the book or saw the movie.

A healing story
Revisado: 04-05-23
Characters were so likable, I am sorry the book ended. I would have enjoyed it more if the character who created conflict had also grown rather than a surprise he’s not so bad after all.

Had to peak

There were so many characters that could have been the bookkeeper, but some of them I liked and really didn't want any of my favorites to be evil.
