Historia
The OSS - Office of Strategic Services - created under the command of William Donovan, has been celebrated for its cloak-and-dagger operations during World War II and as the precursor of the CIA. As the "Oh So Social", it has also been portrayed as a club for the well-connected before, during, and after the war.

This book was a struggle to finish. The story was good. However, the narrator was very monotone and didn't add anything to the story.
It was read like a news headline, which might have been the intention given the time frame this was set in.
Has some good chunks of history, mostly in the Italian campaign.

Historia
Following a drunken night of sex with the office secretary, Marty’s guts are rebelling after his personal hangover remedy, nachos with jalapenos and hot sauce. Marty has to go - and he’s got to get across the office to do so. Standing in his way are Nikki, the secretary from the night prior, Brad, the vape-enthusiast douche, and possibly even his boss. The office door is always open, after all. Join Marty on his trek, like a vulgar Lord of the Rings. The distance may be shorter, but the stakes are just as high.

Needed to be flushed
Revisado: 03-25-20
while this was a very short 'book' it was a struggle. The narrator did as best he could with a terrible story line.
The author focused on the use of profanity and the main character's jealousy and disdain for the other characters. Which made it sound like a personal experience had by the author.
Overall a terrible experience.

Historia
Inside Michael’s craft supply store, cashier Ann Chapman rings up another customer. Then it happens. A loud crack; a gust of wind; the light in register five goes dark. Over the next 23 days, the entire DC area will be thrust into a reign of terror unprecedented in American history. Sniper attacks targeting and murdering everyday citizens will bring the entire region to its knees as a nation still reeling from the recent attacks of 9/11 and the anthrax scare is forced to confront a new type of brutal assault - this time in their own backyard.

Gripping from the beginning
Revisado: 01-09-20
Great from the beginning to the closure at the end. The real interviews and 911 calls enhanced the book. Those helped create a personal feeling that was necessary for the book to reach its highest potential.

Historia
In a pulls-no-punches essay intended to provoke rational discussion, Stephen King sets down his thoughts about gun violence in America. Anger and grief in the wake of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School are palpable in this urgent piece of writing, but no less remarkable are King's keen thoughtfulness and composure as he explores the contours of the gun-control issue and constructs his argument for what can and should be done.

A view from both sides
Revisado: 02-24-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Guns to be better than the print version?
The narrator did a good job of showing voice inflection.
Have you listened to any of Christian Rummel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No but they did a good job with this book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
it was though provoking regardless of which side of the gun control belief you sit on.
Any additional comments?
It was only 69 cents. It was worth the purchase and short enough you can knock it out in one sitting.
