I loved that Concubi Dreams had a real plot and real characters. You never know what you’re going to get with erotic fiction. This book is an almost 50/50 blend of erotica and horror, which I really appreciated, even if I tend to prefer the horror more toned down so the erotica can really do its thing.

The writing was solid overall, though there was too much telling vs. showing. There were also many moments in the story where I didn’t quite buy the main characters’ actions, but I did like the protagonists and was impressed the book took as much time as it did to build up their lives and personality.

Definitely a worthy read for erotic horror fans.

Written explores the many many facets of the writing process and all of the ways a writer can get stuck along the way. Be prepared to question everything you think you know about how to get writing done.

It’s such a useful guide for helping you figure out what might be causing you to write less than you’d like, why it’s happening, and how to fix it.

You’re all but guaranteed to encounter perspectives and ideas that are new to you or that you hadn’t seriously considered before.

The narrator was lovely, with a crisp engaging British accent.
